Mara 29 Posted August 21, 2007 I wouldn't want first shirt. I'd have to get up at like 5-5:30am, lol. Ohhhh, not that early!! I hate getting up that early. No kidding. First shift starts at 6:30. *shudder*
Ayingel 24 Posted August 21, 2007 Well, the hospital still hasn't sent anything back from my dad's biopsy, so with luck it's malignant right now...
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 21, 2007 Usually in these situations, no news really is good news.
Princess 35 Posted August 24, 2007 Yeah, if it was malignant, you'd be being sent to a specialist
Drake 53 Posted August 24, 2007 That's what happened with me dad when they found benign (isn't malignant the one that spread?) cancer in one of his kidneys. Funny enough, he was in the hospital originally to pass a stone in his bladder and when they did the x-ray, they found the cancer. It was cool because they performed a brand new surgical technique where they cut a little hole in his side then suchered and cut off the kidney, then sucked it all out through a tube. Normally, they would have had to cut him right open and he would have been in the hospital recovering for a couple weeks. Instead he was there for three days before being set loose. Princess 35 Posted August 24, 2007 Benign = non cancerous Malignant = cancer
Ender 8 Posted August 25, 2007 My brain tumor was benign, but the little nerfherder (craniopharyngioma) had a thing for regrowing cysts.
Mara 29 Posted August 27, 2007 Okay, there's a family from my church could use some thougths and prayers, especially their 17-year-old daughter. Earlier this summer she was raped and found out she was pregnant. For about a month or so she didn't even tell her parents or anyone, but her mom began to suspect something when it seemed she had the flu but it wasn't getting better. For now I hear they plan to keep the baby and raise it instead of giving up to adoption, but the girl has to go back to high school in a couple weeks, and sometimes that can be hard. Just thoughts and prayers for all, hoping it will go over well. As well as anything like this can.
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 27, 2007 Man, that is crazy. I'll defninitely keep her in my thoughts. I can't even imagine how hard that would be.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted August 27, 2007 i hope they catch the creep who did that.
Mara 29 Posted August 27, 2007 As far as I understand it... she was out with some friends on some kind of youth thing... and there was one boy with them who just didn't take "no" for an answer. It's probably likely that she had never met the guy before that day and probably won't see him again. Unfortunately, she kept it a secret for a while, instead of going to the hospital like they say to gather fresh evidence.. So it's unlikely...
Mara 29 Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) Uh, so a family in my neighborhood could use your prayers. Their house burned down last night (at least partially). At least they got out safely. Edited October 10, 2007 by Mara
Princess 35 Posted October 27, 2007 Please keep my grandma in your prayers. Her abscess is back again and bigger than before. The end could be near.
Ayingel 24 Posted November 5, 2007 so...my mom called me this afternoon and told me my cousin isn't bull riding any more. at a national competition (i think at the end of october) he tied for second. at some point on that ride, he broke 2 bones in his arm and severed a nerve. not sure which nerve, but it can't be pleasant. next week he's due at mayo clinic to see if they can repair the damage done to his nerves, so at least i won't be alone while i house-sit. i'm still trying to find any news on it, but until then, i'll just have to use my imagination.... TheUnknown 39 Posted December 23, 2007 My seventeen year-old cousin was involved in a one-car crash about a week and a half ago. We're not sure exactly what happened, but the result was a leg broken in two places, a broken pelvis, two collapsed lungs, damage to his bladder, and bleeding on the brain. He's still in a drug-induced coma.
Uncle Du 22 Posted December 23, 2007 OMG, I hope he pulls through. He'll be in my thoughts.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted December 23, 2007 yikes! hope he pulls through alright. :(
TheUnknown 39 Posted December 23, 2007 He's gotten a real bad case of pnuenomia. On top of that, he had a blood clot in his leg (which hasn't been repaired). The medicines for those two are both causing the bleeding in his brain, which had previously stopped. It's touch and go, and he had a bad day.
Mara 29 Posted December 24, 2007 He'll definitely be in my prayers and thoughts.

TheUnknown 39 Posted January 7, 2008 An update on my cousin: It looks like he's at least going to make it. He's opened his eyes a few times and has squeezed my grandfather's hand, but he's not waking up completely. The doctors say he should have already come out of the drug induced coma.
