Drake 53 Posted June 25, 2008 I think they're pretty good in keeping with continuity. George is a fan of the EU, that much is pretty clear. If he were to do something involving pre-established canon stories, I don't think he would ruin it. Keep in mind that the Clone Wars movie isn't being directed by George. He's busy with the live-action TV show.
Mara 29 Posted June 25, 2008 A spin-off in post-OT might be okay, but I think I would rather not see any adaptations of any current EU novels or materials. In my opinion, it would just ruin it because they would never be able to include anything. But I would be all up for something that would take place during the same time period with new characters that haven't been seen or read about before in the EU, novels or elsewhere. I am excited about this post-prequel live-action show, though. The Clone Wars movie... I dunno yet.
Drake 53 Posted June 26, 2008 I'm probably the other way around. I'm excited for this movie and kind of wary of the live-action. If George is directing any of the live-action show, I will expect terrible acting and copious amounts of unnecessary CG. We'll see though.
Mara 29 Posted June 26, 2008 I'm just more excited about getting new content and information. The Clone Wars just seem overdone to me. I don't care who the director is.
Chickenman 9 Posted June 26, 2008 I love every bit of the Clone Wars. I don't think it's been overdone so much as too much at once.
Drake 53 Posted June 26, 2008 I agree. It's like when a new single from your favourite band is played on the radio. It gets played way too much but you still love it.
Mara 29 Posted June 26, 2008 I love every bit of the Clone Wars. I don't think it's been overdone so much as too much at once. Yeah, maybe that's it. I guess I was hoping for a different time period in the CGI show.
Chickenman 9 Posted June 26, 2008 Like seriously, I set out to be absolutely on top of that stuff, started collecting the comics individually. As it stands, I still need to read/consume: About 5 (more?) Republic Graphic Novels The Clone Wars Adventures comics The Medstar Duology Two Republic Commando Books Finish Republic Commando (the game) The Cestus Deception Jedi Trial Yoda: Dark Rendevous And a ton of short stories Granted, I gave up and only recently started trying again, but meh. :p
Mara 29 Posted June 26, 2008 I need to read the Republic Commando books, too. :p
Chickenman 9 Posted June 26, 2008 (edited) First one: Awesome. Edited June 26, 2008 by Chickenman
Mara 29 Posted June 26, 2008 Hope so. I had been avoiding them, but now I think they may be interesting. Oh, and if I remember right, Jedi Trial was a bit boring. :p
Chickenman 9 Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) I'm damn psyched for this movie. Edit: Hell. Yes. Edited August 6, 2008 by Chickenman
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted August 6, 2008 mass CG carnage.....plentiful explosions.....beautiful. *wipes tear*
Andy 60 Posted August 6, 2008 I seem to be the least bothered about this out of all my mates. lol I'd prefer it if R2 wasn't the only person who sounded like himself. lol
Drake 53 Posted August 6, 2008 C-3PO, Mace Windu and Count Dooku will all be sounding like themselves. Although, I'm also sad that the others didn't come back to do their voices.
Andy 60 Posted August 6, 2008 Yeah, thta is counteracted by the fact that Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda sound nothing like themselves. They didn't even ASK Hayden to reprise his role.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted August 6, 2008 probably cuz he sucked so badly in the original role. i'm sad Ewan won't be reprising his role as Obi-Wan. :(
Andy 60 Posted August 6, 2008 So they'd get someone who doesn't even sound like him and think that'll make it better? Did they not realise that two wrongs doesn't make a right? lol
Chickenman 9 Posted August 6, 2008 Three rights make a left. And apparently Hayden really isn't that bad an actor. It's just impossible to act in front of a damn green screen!
Andy 60 Posted August 6, 2008 The TIE fighters managed it in the OT. :p
Chickenman 9 Posted August 6, 2008 Idiot. That was a blue screen! :p
Andy 60 Posted August 7, 2008 Oh... My mistake. That makes so much difference. The TIEs clearly had a huge advantage over Hayden.
Chickenman 9 Posted August 7, 2008 That, and they were inanimate objects. :p
Andy 60 Posted August 7, 2008 Yet still managed a better performance. ;)
