Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted November 24, 2007 even with the weaker dollar, i think your deisel is still cheaper than ours. :|
Princess 35 Posted November 24, 2007 But it's per litre, not gallon
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted November 25, 2007 ok, so if my math is right (and i used my handy unit converter on my phone, so it should be), 1 liter = .264 gallons. and right now, 1 USD = 0.49 pounds. sooooooooo, i stand corrected. your gas is around 8.27USD. sucks for you. :p
Andy 60 Posted November 25, 2007 See, that's why I think you lot should stop whining about high prices for a while. I have no sympathy for you. :p
TheUnknown 39 Posted November 25, 2007 You have more mass transportation options...And a smaller country.
Bad furday 57 Posted November 25, 2007 And cooler (and more) cars that run on diesel :D
Andy 60 Posted November 25, 2007 You have more mass transportation options... Eh? Public transport here is terrible. In prolly 90% of the country driving is the only serious option. From my experience, from where I live: Driving to London takes 2 and a half hours. On the train it takes 3 to 4 hours. It takes me 10 minutes to drive to work. If I caught the bus it'd take me about 1 hour and a half. If I was working at night there is no bus, and a taxi after midnight would cost about 2 hours pay. Drake 53 Posted November 25, 2007 Gas prices are going UP in Canada, DESPITE our dollar being stronger than the States. Something about that strikes me as not quite right. We're still a far cry from the gouging England is taking though. And I agree with you, B. Americans have absolutely NO right to complain about gas prices. They don't understand how easy they have it. Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted November 26, 2007 doesn't mean we have to like it. gas prices are taking chunks out of our paychecks just like everyone else's. despite our prices being lower than most areas of the world (apparently), there are plenty of folks who have to choose between filling up and buying groceries. just because we pay less for gas doesn't mean we have it "good." it still sucks. we make up for it in taxes. Mara 29 Posted November 26, 2007 Mmhm.... especially when it's super different depending which state you're in.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted November 26, 2007 yeah, Kentucky taxes everything.
Mara 29 Posted November 27, 2007 Yeah. And Michigan is still having budget issues (how odd), so they're trying to pass more taxes. And gas went up to $3.23. It was $2.98 when I left for work. And then the government claims there's no scalping going on.
Princess 35 Posted November 27, 2007 I paid $2.91 this morning after the prices went up everywhere else
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted November 28, 2007 yeah, i filled up for 2.69 before it jumped to 3.09. i love how it jumps by quarters in an hour and creeps back down by pennies every couple weeks.
Mara 29 Posted November 28, 2007 Last night it was back to $3.10. What the hell is the point to jump up 25 cents for ONE DAY?

Ayingel 24 Posted June 19, 2011 Besides for being told that I'm taking punishment for my workplace not having a good retention rate for our new servers, it's been okay.
Pandora 77 Posted June 19, 2011 Spent time with hubby and test-drove the new VW Jetta turbodiesel. Loved it. Want it. Came home, talked to the in-laws about the car, then Daniel mentioned how he's sick of his job. What's my mother-in-law say in her INFINITE wisdom that we are CONSTANTLY soliciting???? She tells him to get another job doing the same damn thing he hates!!!!! At that point, I stormed off and am now trying to get calmed down enough to study for my freaking insurance exam. Do I REALLY want to sell insurance? No, not particularly. Do I want to go back to retail? I would rather eat a diet that consisted entirely of asperegus. Nasty mushy smelly asperegus.
