whee! that's awesome. Never thought about comparing it to "separate but equal", but that's exactly what it's all about.

Okay, new topic.

For those who don't know, Democratic Presidential canddiate is a Roman Catholic. He also supports abortion rights and gay civil unions.

Recently, some more conservative Catholics, including some clergymen. have began saying that Catholic politicians who support things such as abortion rights, gay rights, stem cell research, etc, things the Catholic church has condemned. aren't real Catholics and neither are Catholics who support candidates who support those things aren't either. Some have even tried to deny them communion.

Translation: Catholics can't vote Democratic.

However, the church has also condemned the death penalty and the war in Iraq. So, wouldn't Catholics not be able to vote Republican either?

What do you think?

By the way, it's ironic that now it's a political issue when a Catholic isn't Catholic ENOUGH. JFK, who was also Catholic, had to fight the notion that he was TOO Catholic and would be the Pope's pawn.

lol, now that is why I think some religions have gone too far. Following a faith shouldn't be so restrictive, it should allow people to make their own choices, and have their own opinions.

That's one of the problems with Catholicism...the more "conservative" members, that is. Protestant...ism (I guess, lol) is quite a bit more leanient (sp?) in most respects. For example...I could go to my church in a T-shirt and shorts if I wanted to and it wouldn't be blasphemy, lol.

Drake: I've gone to church in jeans and a t-shirt many times and haven't been struck by lightning yet.

As for voting, I believe that it's a personal decision between you and God. You have to do what your conscience dictates. And well, you all saw what I said in "Ask Prin"

Umm...

*Takes the M24 sniper rifle off of back strap, unslings the CAR-15 from his shoulder, takes the two Berettas off of his thighs, the two Desert Eagles and Sig Sauers from inside his jacket, the dual scimitars from his hips, the two combat knives from his upper arms, the Uzi from the small of his back, and the other combat knives from his boots*

I think that's about it... oh, wait.

*Takes the frag grenades and flashbangs from pockets*

Well... Since the purpose of all major religions were to keep people under cotnrol.

i think most major religions in the US allow poeple to make their own decisions. granted, the Muslim faith has pretty strict rules and guidelines, but here in America, it's not legal to shoot your daughter for showing a bit of ankle. Mormons have some pretty strict standards as well, but consequences for not adhering to them tend to hit on a more personal level. dress like a hooker, you may get cat-called. get drunk, you run the risk of alcohol poisoning or a serious car crash if you were stupid enough to drive in that condidtion. smoke, and eventually you could end up like my grandpa who's dying of lung cancer. sure, it's strict, but no one's hanging over my head to make me do it. i follow it so that i don't have to face the consequences like those who don't.

Where do you get your ideas from? That's just plain racism.
