  1. Although the Skywalker Saga has drawn to a close (for now at least - it's not like we haven't heard that before), there is still plenty going on in our favourite galaxy far far away. As with our previous list, we'll be keeping this article updated with information about upcoming Star Wars movie and TV releases as the information becomes available. Whether you are looking forward to seeing a new Star Wars spin-off movie at the cinema, a new live-action Star Wars show, or the latest Star Wars animated adventure on Disney+, we've got your back! Last updated: January 2020. Disney+ Star Wars shows coming soon While Star Wars takes a break from the big screen following the release of The Rise of Skywalker, there's a lot going on over on the new Disney+ streaming service, and Lucasfilm are keen to continue the momentum that has been started from the successful launch of The Mandalorian in November 2019. The Clone Wars Season 7 - 17 Feb 2020 The Clone Wars was a big hit from 2008 to 2014, with a feature length animated film and the series itself starting on Cartoon Network. When Lucasfilm was acquired by Disney the much loved series was put on indefinite hold leaving several threads dangling, such as the Siege of Mandalore and the unresolved issues between Ahsoka Tano and her former master, Anakin Skywalker. In 2018, showrunner Dave Filoni announced that The Clone Wars would return for its conclusion, but it's currently unclear whether the show has a future beyond season 7. The Mandalorian Season 2 - Fall 2020 The Mandalorian launched with Disney+ in November 2019 and was touted as following a lone gunslinger across the "wild west" of the Star Wars universe, but it turned out to be so much more. With "Baby Yoda" stealing the hearts of fans and generating a thousand memes, it's no surprise that shortly after the end of the first season Jon Favreau announced that the Mandalorian would return to our screens soon. Untitled Cassian Andor series - Expected 2021 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was the first of the Star Wars spin-off, or "anthology" movies, and it proved to be a hit with fans in 2016. The film told the story of a band of rebels who stole the plans for the first Death Star. The Cassian Andor series announced in November 2018 will serve as a prequel to Rogue One and is said to be a "spy thriller" following the exploits of the titular shady rebel and his sidekick K-2SO before that fateful mission. Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk will return as their respective characters from Rogue One. Untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series - TBA It was either the best kept secret or the worst kept secret in Star Wars, depending on your point of view. For years rumours circulated that Ewan McGregor would reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it wasn't until October 2019 that anything was officially confirmed. Little is known about the series so far, but McGregor has said that we can expect to see how the former Jedi Master copes with the destruction of the Jedi Order and the betrayal of his closest friend. Confirmed Star Wars movie releases In April 2019 Disney confirmed the release dates for three new Star Wars movies, although no further details were given at the time. The status of these projects is currently unknown, and the information available has changed several times since then. We wouldn't be at all surprised if these dates got changed or the projects were reworked altogether. Untitled Star Wars movie - 16 Dec 2022 Bob Iger confirmed in April 2019 that this film would be by Game of Thrones producers David Benioff & DB Weiss, but they later left the project citing an increased workload due to contractual obligations with Netflix. No further details have been released. Given the pairs experience on the TV adaptation of Game of Thrones there were rumours that this was set to be something akin to the Knights of the Old Republic video game series. Untitled Star Wars movie - 20 Dec 2024 Nothing is known about this project yet, although The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson was once said to be returning to Star Wars for a series of films, and this has as of yet not been confirmed to be cancelled. Untitled Star Wars movie - 18 Dec 2026 Again, no details have been released for this project yet, so stay tuned and we'll update this article as we discover more information.

The Clone Wars season 7 updates

When Star Wars: The Clone Wars was cancelled by the our Disney overlords in 2014, it was almost universally decried as a bad move. The much loved animated series had lasted for six seasons and there were still many untold stories. Unlike a lot of expanded universe material at the time, The Clone Wars became part of the new canon timeline, and in 2018 it was announced that the series would return with a new season on the new streaming service Disney Plus. Now, at Celebration Chicago we have had new information about the upcoming series, along with some concept art that can be found on the official site. During the panel saw a clip of fan favourite Ahsoka Tano venturing into the depths of Coruscant's infamous level 1313 (mostly infamous amongst fans for the cancelled video game). Ahsoka herself has had a costume redesign, bridging the gap between her Clone Wars outfit and her appearance in Star Wars Rebels. Darth Maul is also set to return with a new look that is closer to his appearance in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and he will have an epic lightsaber duel with Ahsoka. Ray Park who played the Sith Lord in The Phantom Menace returned to provide the motion capture for the fight to ensure the battle's authenticity. One of the highlights for Dave Filoni was completing the Siege of Mandalore, which was a storyline that had grow from ideas forged with George Lucas before the show was cancelled, and he credited Lucas for laying the foundation for the series and mentoring him. A new trailer was also shown at the end of the panel, which you can see in full below. It doesn't look like the trailer has been published on it's own yet so if you're only interested in the trailer you'll want to skip through to around 52 minutes in.

    The Clone Wars

Across the galaxy, the Clone Wars are raging. The Separatists, led by Count Dooku, the onetime Jedi and now secret Sith Lord, continue to press forward, and more and more worlds are either falling, or seceding and joining the cause. Under the leadership of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, the Republic heroically battles on, championed by its huge army of cloned soldiers and their Jedi generals. Anakin Skywalker, believed by some to be the prophesied "Chosen One" destined to bring balance to the Force, is now a Jedi Knight under the tutelage of his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Death is a constant possibility—and his chances of survival aren't improved by the unexpected arrival of an apprentice: Ahsoka, a brash inexperienced fourteen-year-old Padawan. But there's no time for Anakin to question his latest orders. He and Obi-Wan have been assigned a new mission, and failure is not an option. Jabba the Hutt's precious infant son has been kidnapped, and when the frantic parent applies to the Jedi for help, it falls to Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and their clone troops to track down the evidence and retrieve the missing Huttlet. And more is at stake: For a grateful Jabba just might allow the Republic access to the Hutt-controlled space lanes that the Grand Army desperately needs in order to beat the Separatists into submission. But the Republic is not the only power that craves access to those space lanes. Count Dooku, determined to win the prize for the Separatists, has set a trap for the Jedi. When they find the Huttlet, they will also find Dooku's master assassin, Asajj Ventress, and countless legions of battle droids waiting to spring a trap. The blazing new animated feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars takes place in the years preceding Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and sets the stage for the groundbreaking TV series. Both contain all original material—direct from the brilliant imagination of legendary Star Wars creator George Lucas. And these exciting new adventures and characters are being brought to life in book form by none other than #1 New York Times bestselling Star Wars author Karen Traviss.

    The Clone Wars: No Prisoners

But the training run becomes an active—and dangerous—rescue mission when Republic undercover agent Hallena Devis goes missing in the middle of a Separatist invasion. Dispatched to a distant world to aid a local dictator facing a revolution, Hallena finds herself surrounded by angry freedom fighters and questioning the Republic’s methods–and motives. Summoned to rescue the missing operative who is also his secret love, Pellaeon—sworn to protect the Republic over all—is torn between duty and desire.
