Alexander 0 Posted December 9, 2005 I'll wait until my sister gets free passes from her job at the movie theatre or until it comes out on DVD. Besides Aslan, nothing about this film looked impressive. I have the same skepticism about King Kong too.
GI_Admiral 2 Posted December 9, 2005 (edited) Pffft, skeptic! Narnia was awesome Though the last post was fueled by post-movie syndrom where one thinks everything about the movie is perfect :p Edited December 9, 2005 by GI_Admiral
Andy 60 Posted December 10, 2005 Though the last post was fueled by post-movie syndrom where one thinks everything about the movie is perfect Yeah, I hate that. My worst case of post-movie syndrome was after I saw Matrix Reloaded... I actually thought it was a good movie... :p
Andy 60 Posted December 10, 2005 I know. I don't know what came over me.
GI_Admiral 2 Posted December 10, 2005 lol that's a bad case right there b :p
Ana 15 Posted December 10, 2005 Lol worst part of Narnia: very blatantly obvious lack of blood. There are battles. But everyone's weapon is always shiny clean. Silly child-appropriateness.
GI_Admiral 2 Posted December 10, 2005 lol that was pretty bad, but hey it is a childrens book :p
Tsl 7 Posted December 10, 2005 I'm going to see it tomorrow
Alexander 0 Posted December 10, 2005 I want that one girl to be impaled by a sword because of her saying, "Impossible!" in every goddamn ad for the movie.
Tsl 7 Posted December 12, 2005 Yay! Narnia was excellent! I was actually impressed with the cg animals. They certainly weren't perfect, but they're getting much much better!
Drake 53 Posted December 12, 2005 I loved the movie! And I agree about the CG. I want a gryphon now. And aside from Aslan, I'd say my favourite character was Otmin, the Centaur General. That guy was hardcore badass with all the swords and the rhino and the w00tness. :D
Alexander 0 Posted December 12, 2005 (edited) Well I saw it today (hooray for free tickets.) But I must say I didn't like the movie. While I liked the Tilda Swinton as the White Witch, and all the other actors were good as well, the movie was really boring. Maybe it was the overuse of slow-motion and attempting-to-make-a-scene-moving-with-swelling-orchestrations, but none of it worked for me. In essence its a kids movie and its hard to have any attachment to main characters who you know won't die in a children's movie. So, for a letter grade: C+ Edited December 12, 2005 by Alexander
GI_Admiral 2 Posted December 12, 2005 I did think the beginning was kinda slow. And the lack of blood did annoy me abit. But yeah, Otmin was kick ass! :D
Alexander 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Syriana: If you want a to see a film that seriously deals with the situation in the Middle East, see this. Its probably the most truthful take on it so far. Grade: A
Andy 60 Posted December 17, 2005 The truth sucks. We want nukes and zombies ;)

Tsl 7 Posted December 23, 2005 King Kong = D OMG....Petey J! What in the name of whomever was that? And more importantly...what were you on when you made this movie and can I have some? This is one of those movies where the scenes are so implausable and stupid that they are literally laugh out loud funny. I'm not talking about the cute little bits that are supposed to be funny. Those were funny too, but the parts that aren't supposed to be funny were funnier! I wasn't the only one laughing out loud at the action scenes, either. I actually heard more than one muttered "You're kidding me...." and (sarcastic) "Oh my God...". I won't spoil the film, but let's just say that Petey J absolutely doesn't know when to quit, and he apparently has a vine fetish. The movie picks up a few IQ points once they get back to NYC (I think because there are no more vines...), but by then all credibility and hope for the film is utterly utterly lost and you find yourself wishing you'd bought the big box of popcorn....and maybe a gameboy. In short, the movie sucked, but got a D for being stupidly hilarious in parts.
Chickenman 9 Posted December 23, 2005 *Wipes away a tear.* That was beatiful, TSL. You should be a movie reviewer. :p
Bad furday 57 Posted December 23, 2005 *applauds!* I do like that Burger King commercial for King Kong... Where the blonde chick wraps her mouth around a big........burger , and then goes dancing with one of the King's hands. :p
