Okay, alumni from the University of Florida have petitioned the GEORGIA Department of Revenue to have a specialty liscence plate honoring the University of FLORIDA. The Senate Pro Tem, sent an e-mail to the Department of Revenue:

This is absolutely unacceptable for our state!

A Gator tag will cause accidents. Gator fans cannot drive or read traffic signs. A car up on blocks cannot move. And it will lower our quality of life. In fact, my children used to have nightmares because we lived dangerously close to the state of Florida.

If state law allows this to occur then we need to change the law. Please delay any approval until the next session when we can amend the law to ban any tag for a university with more national championships than the average IQ of their alumni. A delay in processing their application should not require much of an effort since they cannot write either.

If it takes a 1,000 signatures to create a tag, can we have a regulation that 1,000 e-mails AGAINST a proposed tag kills it? If you agree, please count this as e-mail # 1?..

Please keep me informed as to the progress of this outrage. I am counting on the GEORGIA Department of Revenue to handle it appropriately. (wink-wink)

Sen. Eric Johnson

I agree with the part about Gator fans not reading traffic signs. That probably explains why Floridians cannot drive.

We have Gator tags here. And Rebel tags. And Tiger tags. And Roll Tide tags. And Razorback tags. I think they actually serve as targets for each other.

Nothing from Georgia though. *goes back to her nachoes*

I'm tired and loopy, and I thought maybe some seven layer dip would calm us down?

From a blog:

I think Canada obtained its hard-won independence by sending a telegram to the Queen: "Oh, it would be a jolly good show if you might grant us our independence, your Royalness." etc. etc.

Bad furday

The Canadiens sent a telegram to get what they wanted, the Americans fought a war. How typical! :p;)

Well....if we hadn't, we wouldn't have all those paintings of Washington crossing the Delaware... :p

Well, we sent the king a letter. Granted we were just telling him that we weren't putting up with him anymore, rather than ask. Or have we all forgotten about the Declaration of Independence already? We tried to be nice and civilized about it, but he just wouldn't listen. It's like he thought he was royalty or something. :p

an e-mail conversation between Rob and i today. note the ~! is a "sarcastic mark" (don't ask. just go with it.).

Me: so, what are you doing to occupy your time? ;-)

Rob: I have an article I need to write up to send to CHS ideas on a new revenue generating opportunity. I am still working on billing. I checked my My space and email. That about covers it.

Me: wow. sounds busy. i wish i could take a load off ya. ;-)

Rob: Maybe you can start checking my Myspace for me? There was a survey filled out by Chassity that I was thinking about doing. ~!

Me: so do it ;-)

Rob: When I have nothing to do I will get to it.

Me: i thought we'd already established you have nothing to do ~!

Rob: Billing and an article write up. Come on honey they don't pay me to sit around.

Me: really? coulda fooled me. ~!

Rob: Billing done. And yes, they pay me to work. *fold arms and pout

Me: your pouty face of doom will not work on me *pokes tongue out*

Rob: That's it no kissing for a week!

Me: fein! and no cuddling on the couch either! :-p

Rob: Guess we better not go to my house, then. Lunch time! Be back in a bit.

Me: yeah yeah. run away like a scaredy cat. ph34r me! have a good lunch, honey.

Well, there's your whole problem right there! You asked a man. We asked the Queen. Of course the King wouldn't give up his sith, he had an ego to uphold. The more land to wave in France's face, the better. :p

There are worse things than not having internet...

Like waiting 10 minutes for ewoking Myspace to load. You get up. Take a sith. Smoke a cig. Get a drink... Come back and someone either picked up the damn phone or even worse than that... some ewoksith log choking funnel cake for brains decides to sit down and hack teh interbuttz....

My friend telling me the joys of dial-up.

Dial-up is an experience everyone should have to go through, just to appreciate the way technology has advanced. I remember what it was like before the Internet you know :p (and before cellphones... and before more than two channels on the TV... and before CD players and mp3s... God, I'm old (shut up Mara :p))

I remember when multiplayer pc gaming was calling my friend to choose a game (usually Duke Nukem 3D, Road Rash, or other random modem-compatible multiplayer games....), hang up, plugging the modem to the comp, waiting for the call to get accepted to his computer...and enjoying low-res high-quality gamig :D
