So at E3, Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars game has been revealed as being set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

Apparently the player takes on the role of a padawan who survived the initial purge and is being hunted down by agents of the Empire.

Not much is known about the game yet... Is this the Jedi Knight game we've been waiting for?

They've announced a release date(ish) of autumn this year... still no footage of screenshots yet, though!

Apparently I've been neglecting the forum thread for this. E3 2019 has revealed a few new bits...

Here's the gameplay demo:

And an official trailer!

I am totally looking forward to this now. Didn't expect to see Saw in the game, so that's totally rad.

Me neither... it makes me wonder who or what else they've hidden in the game.

As much as I like to think I'm part of the PC Master Race, I think my PC would melt so I'll be getting it on PS4. I should have upgraded by then anyway, but I don't have the money I used to to be able to spend on building a top spec gaming rig. :(

Anyone else get a bit of a Force Unleashed feel?

Yeah, I do get a bit of a Force Unleashed vibe, but I'm not complaining.

People are still moaning about the lack of limb dismemberment. I don't see the big deal - the environments shown so far looks the part to me, so if the gameplay is enjoyable and the story is engaging, then dismemberment is just a little extra flavouring that I'm not going to miss. The way people go on about though you'd think that Star Wars was just arms and legs flying off all over the place. 🙄

Haven't played Force Unleashed yet... but I have heard that. And from the bits I have seen.

Haha I saw the whining about the dismemberment too. It's kind of ridiculous. They should be happy about the no mictrotransactions and no loot boxes bit.

It'd be such a petty reason to not buy the game, too. Hopefully it does really well, because that could lead to a renaissance for Star Wars games. 🤞

They're probably just a loud minority. Like the TLJ haters.

I just noticed that Gamestop is advertising a $15 Fandango ticket if you preorder the game. Not sure about the specifics.

    • Jedi: Fallen Order extended gameplay footage

Respawn and EA have released an extended cut of the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay footage.
The new video adds extra depth to the gameplay demo, revealing a little more of the story driven aspect of the game as well as showing a few sneaky tidbits that we missed out on the first time around.
Jedi: Fallen Order game director Stig Asmussen has responded to criticism that the the gameplay seems to lack depth, saying that the demo footage didn't show the complexity of the combat system as it shows a more focused play-through to better show the narrative and attention to detail that has been put into recreating the Star Wars universe.
He also reiterated the game's inspiration from other titles such as Metroid and Castlevania, which wasn't clear from the demo footage either.
Check out the extended gameplay footage below:
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be released this November, and is already available to preorder.
    • Jedi: Fallen Order - Dark Temple comic revealed

Marvel Comics will release a new five issue mini-series this September, that will serve as a prequel to the Respawn Entertainment video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and introduce some of the game's characters.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - Dark Temple has been written by Matthew Rosenberg (Uncanny X-Men and The Punisher) and illustrated by Paolo Villanelli (Vader: Dark Visions) in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm to ensure continuity across the saga.
The story of Jedi: Fallen Order - Dark Temple focuses on Jedi Master Eno Cordova and his padawan Cere Junda, after the Jedi Council sends them on a mission to the planet Ontotho to oversee the excavation of a mysterious temple that has been discovered. Things do not go to plan, and the pair find themselves embroiled in a war between local resistance forces and security troops.
While little has been given away so far, there are a few things that we can infer or speculate upon.
      Timeline
Eno and Cere are sent on the mission by the Jedi Council, so the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith have clearly not happened yet, or at least not at the start of the mini-series.
In the details given so far for Jedi: Fallen Order Cere has been described as a former Jedi Knight, but here she is listed as merely a padawan.
      Jedi Master
Eno Cordova appears to be a new character. If Cere is due to graduate as a fully fledged Jedi Knight by the end of the mini-series, could Master Cordova's next padawan be Cal Kestis?
Also, this is pure wild speculation here, but am I the only one that sees a resemblance between Eno Cordova and actor Tony Amendola, well known for lending his voice to video game characters?
      Location
Ontotho seems to be a brand new planet. Respawn developers have already stated that there is more than one new planet that has been created for Jedi: Fallen Order. The game starts on Bracca, so that's one; could we also be headed to Ontotho during the course of our journey as Cal Kestis?
    • Jedi: Fallen Order - Dark Temple

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - Dark Temple is a comic mini-series and prequel to the Respawn Entertainment video game Jedi: Fallen Order.
It was announced on the official Star Wars website on 11 June 2019.
The comic follows Jedi Master Eno Cordova and his padawan Cere Junda on a mission to the remote planet of Ontotho. There they are tasked with overseeing the excavation of a mysterious temple, but local resistance forces and security troops clash in a war for the fate of the planet.
    • Jedi: Fallen Order

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a video game by Respawn Entertainment.
The game is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and the player will assume the role of a surviving padawan being hunted down during the Jedi purge.
The game was announced at E3 2018 but little information was given between then and the game's debut at Celebration 2019 in April 2019. Shortly before the panel, an EA community manager revealed via Reddit that the game uses Unreal Engine 4, not the Frostbite engine as was originally thought. It was also revealed on Twitter that the game would be single-player only, and would not include microtransactions.
Gameplay footage was revealed at EA Play 2019 on 8 June, with the official trailer debuting at the Xbox E3 Briefing the following day.
