Mara 29 Posted December 27, 2006 I'm sure you've all heard it by now... but President Ford died last night at home. He was 93. The 38th president was from my home city (basically). We've got everything named after him.. the airport, a highway... lots of stuff. And, until now, he was the oldest living former president. I'm sure he's in a better place now. RIP, Jerry. Alexander 0 Posted December 30, 2006 Deaths come in threes. Wonder who will be next - Saddam doesn't count because he was hanged. I think I will watch the Simpson's episode with Gerry Ford in memory.
Mara 29 Posted January 2, 2007 If I didn't have to work... I think it would have been cool to stand on the side of the road and watch the procession go by. Oh well. I did see thisplane on its way in, up in the sky, lol. And the fighter jets went by over my house, practicing, I suppose.
Chickenman 9 Posted January 14, 2007 I was watching the first season of SNL when he died. The sketches with Chevy Chase imitating him as a bumbling idiot that literally couldn't do a single thing right were fast becoming my favorites when I found out. :|
Drake 53 Posted July 1, 2008 Actor Don S. Davis, who played the memorable General George Hammond in the principle cast of SG-1 and subsequent cameo appearances, passed away on June 29 from a heart attack. Here is the GateWorld story There's also a lovely tribute video to him on the main page of that site. Goodnight sweet prince. 1942-2008

TheUnknown 39 Posted August 11, 2008 Jesse Helms died this year, too, although, quite frankly, his evil soul deserves no peace. Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA) also died. He was a Holocaust survivor and a big proponent of human rights causes.
Chickenman 9 Posted August 11, 2008 Just read up on who the hell Jesse Helms was. Fitting that he died of dementia, but doesn't sound like it was a painful enough way to go. :(
