Pandora 77 Posted June 2, 2011 So I'm kinda slowly working my way through the first Codex Alera book by Jim Butcher. I like Harry better so far, but it's something to read. For work I'm starting a book by the founder of the company I work for. The book is called 8 ways to success or something. Andy Albright's the guy that wrote it. Mara 29 Posted June 3, 2011 Time for my 880 pages of fun... Drums of Autumn, Diana Gabaldon
Pandora 77 Posted June 16, 2011 I've nearly finished with Andy Albright's The 8 Steps to Success. It's an easy read, but very valuable. What's cool about it is that as I'm reading it, I'm finding philosophical similarities between Andy Albright and Daniel, which is getting Daniel really excited to discover that he is mentally on the same page as a freaking millionaire. Considering Andy Albright didn't even learn to read until the third grade, it's pretty impressive. I reccommend it.
Drake 53 Posted June 16, 2011 Just finished The Age of Ra by James Lovegrove. It's an alternate history/mythology in which the Egyptian pantheon rose to power and became the main religion on Earth. Quite interesting. I'm looking forward to picking up The Age of Zeus and The Age of Odin.

Drake 53 Posted June 17, 2011 That's what I noticed. I flipped through the book for Game of Thrones a couple days ago at the bookstore and it seemed pretty spot-on.

Drake 53 Posted June 17, 2011 So rarely does it happen when a tv/film adaptation stays true to the book. Even though I haven't read the books, I am greatly pleased by this!

Andy 60 Posted July 16, 2011 Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Yes, I've never read it before. On a side note, I realised yesterday that I was 14 when this book was published, so I'm confused as to why I never got into Harry Potter earlier. I don't remember any of my friends being into it either. Hmm...
