British cars used to be good. Until they stopped making them.

There are a few "British" car manufacturers, but they are mostly owned by foreign parent companies.

http://motortorque.askaprice.com/articles/...ar-industry.asp

There are a handful that make so few cars that nobody has even heard of the company. :p

If I had the money to buy any car I wanted, I would buy an Aston Martin. Mainly because they are British, so I don't really blame you for wanting to buy American. :p

But, as it is, I have ?70 to last til next month. Woooo!

The only British cars I know of are Jaguar (Jag-war, not "Jag-u-wer"), Rolls, and Bentley but I may be wrong about even those.

Tata owns Jag-u-ar :p now(sold off by Ford) (points to Furrylicious Art Thread randomly) so the Indians and the British have formed some sort of symbiotic relationship...again? :p

I'm lusting after an Alfa Romeo 159. In Alfa Red. Natural leather seats. :D

For British cars, I'd like a Morgan. Not one of the new ones either, but one of the old three wheelers. Specifically a 1939 Supersports Aero. :D:p

I guess I'd better change continents then :p

Yeah, I absolutely adore all the old British sports cars from the 60's. I guarantee you that you'll never buy a British Leyland car that doesn't have a problem with it, haha.

And yes, Furday, the 159 is an absolutely beautiful. I love the new 8C as well, but apparently it handles like crap.

Poor Prinny!

and yeah...whenever I look at the 159, I'm, as Clarkson says, "nursing a semi" :p:D

*lusts after the car moar*

It's one of those things....that belongs in the Museum of Modern Art!

Probably because they haven't made any for over 20 years. :p

Even if it were brand new, it wouldn't work properly. :p

Being as neither of us were buying cars when they were available brand new I'd say it's pretty irrelevant. :p

Not so much. I've still got the 1965 Morris Mini Cooper S that I bought off a guy for $4000 in my sophomore year. Leyland car, I've done so much work on that car it's not even funny.

What do you expect with a car that's over 40 years old? lol, plus if you have really had to spend a lot on it, then I'd say you probably paid to much for it in the first place.

Plus the Mark I Mini was BMC. not Leyland. ;)

I'm not catching on to all this British lingo and talk of British cars. Aren't they really small? ;)

Technically, Land Rover isn't British anymore. Tata's acquired it. ;)

So Ender...what colour is you Mini? I hear that if you say "British racing green with white stripes", you'll make B jealous. :p ;)

I never really saw green as a "racing" color. ;)

No, our cars are normal sized. It's yours that are unnecessarily large 'gas'-guzzling behemoths. ;)

It can really stop snowing any time now. I'm rather sick of driving to work and not knowing where the lanes in the road are

What the hell is that? Apart from a car with a stupid name. :p

*looks it up*

OMG, it's just a VW Golf, lol. They aren't too bad.

Ohhhh, knockin' my car eh!! *shakes fist* ;)

That's alright, it was a Golf up until model year 2007 when I got mine. They changed the name back, cause back in the day it was a Rabbit in the U.S. My parents had one. :p

Also sick of scraping an ice rink of my car.
