Yeah, I'm not missing having to drive most places. Hurrah for being in walking/subway distance of everything.

No not you. That was left over from my drive home tonight. I can't even count how many times I was nearly obliterated because everyone on the road was driving with their asses.

Next time, post pictures. :p

Well, at least you don't have the people from Alabama and Florida as well. They can't drive either.

I live near Niagara Falls. We get tourists from essentially every state and province.

Well, at least you don't have the people from Alabama and Florida as well. They can't drive either.

That's because people in Florida are old. The Floridian driver is the one with the blue hair barely sticking over the steering wheel, doing 30 mph in the fast lane with the left turn signal on. Geriatric, geriatric.

But no, I don't have many people from Florida or Alabama. But I have Arkansas, Memphis, and New Orleans. Which brings me to my next rant....

Why cant they go back to the bayou? Come on! There's more than enough crime, poverty, and EFFING VOODOO here already!!!!

And yes, I am serious about the last one. There is a Voodoo town in Memphis. And after Katrina, no friggin lie, it got bigger.

Please say that's kilometers, for the sake of the other drivers.

I'm a good driver... I'm just fast and sometimes irresponsible. Stay back 200 feet behind a semi? Not when I can draft at about 8 feet!

Semis drive too slow to stay back that far; you would have to being driving 25.

I have realized that I'm nearing graduation (about a year and a semester). So, I've started thinking about grad school. I've looked around for places that offer master's/doctorates in political science/politics. I've also stumbled across joint programs that allow you to get both a law degree and a masters/Ph.D in political science. So far, I've looked into NYU, USC (Ana, don't you go here?), UGA, and Emory.

On the one hand, I'm really excited. I've never been outside the Southeast, so the opportunity to live somewhere like California, Oregon, New York, etc is really intriguing. But I'm also worried. I've never lived away from home. In fact, after I got so old, I stopped spending the night with people because I got homesick. Not to mention, I am very slow to make real friends, so I'm worried I'll be lonely and depressed the whole time. Finally, there are the logistics of the whole thing: trying to get assistantships, finding room and board, having some clue what a thesis defense is like, etc.

My friend is dealing with the same thing... she's moving to WV to go to Marshall for grad school. And she doesn't have a place to live yet. But she's even dreading after grad school more.

Oh, god, that's even more terrifying.

Yeah.. and she figures she'll have to go to a big city or somewhere with a lab that can afford someone with a masters'.

I just hope she doesn't end up too far, so I can visit.

Forensic chemistry. So she'll be in some kind of CSI type or police lab somewhere.

i don't think that's helping, Pod :p

Unknown, i'm the same way. i've never lived away from home and the thought of someday moving away for school/marriage terrifies me. it helps me to just go for it. pick a school and then invite a few people out for dinner or something. being proactive makes huge changes a lot easier than sitting around and worrying about it.
