dangit, i'm such an idiot. i don't even have a relationship with Mark yet and i'm already screwing it up. here i might finally have a really good guy, and i think i'm scaring the crap out of him. and i don't even know i'm doing it. and i tried really hard to let him set how fast or slow we went, cuz i'm really not looking for another serious relationship. the last thing i want is for him to feel like he has to do something just because he thinks i want him to. i'm also really trying to be sure it's him i like, and not that i just broke up with Mike and need someone to fill that gap. how could i be so stupid?

so, that kid who backed into me is making false claims. in all honesty, it took more than three weeks to get ahold of him and the insurance company shouldn't even take his claim anyway. his rear bumper (the passenger side) was dented. he said he was backing straight out and that he only moved a foot. that isn't possible. at all. and now the insurance will only pay 60%. granted, it's better than what it could be, but he didn't take pictures (i didn't know to take any of his car) and the police have all the pictures of the accident...i just can't belive it...

Wait, if the cops have all the pictures, then the insurance company should be able to get them. They have to, or else they aren't taking into account all the evidence for what occured. They're trying to scam out paying for the total cost. (This is this other guys insurance right?)

it's the same insurance company as mine

and what? four days of avoidng me wasn't good enough for him? now i'm waiting another week to even talk to robert...i know he thinks our relationship is "bad for my schooling" but if i can't focus on anything because all i can think about is him, what good will that do at all? i don't know what his problem is. he barely spoke to me on the phone when he asked me to call him today. and i know he's going back on his word if he's ending this. i can't even thinkstraight rightnow..i don't want to be alone. i want to see him....so ewoking badly it actually hurts...and i know he won't know that...and he isn't talking to me and he'll say i'm over reacting if her heard that...i don't know what to do with myself right now...

OK, so, since at the moment I seem to be the ranking older person here, I would like to take this oppurtunity to say something...mind you, this is an opinion, though a pretty thoroughly tested one, and I believe it to be true.

For you younger people, in love, in a relationship, whatever: calm the ewok down. Take a breath. Step back. Take a look at the situation. Whatever "problems" you may think that you and your significant other are having, I can almost guarantee that they have been because both of you have blown things out of proportion, or one of you is taking things the wrong way.

I've noticed that nowadays, kids (yes, anyone younger than me at the moment is a kid), seem to be in such a huge rush to get hooked up, and get married, and then end up in a relationship that they don't wanna be in down the line. I'm not saying that's true for anyone here, but I see it happen. And I don't wanna see it happen to anyone here.

Try this: think about you, and think about your man/woman. If you got married RIGHT now, would you be able to live comfortably and happily? Could you support eachother? Do you have the means for it? If you can't, then I would have to say that before you can have a comitted, long lasting relationship, you need to be able to take care of yourself, before you comit to being with someone else.

I'm sorry if this seems kinda harsh, but I am kinda getting tired of the self-defeating attitude that seems to have sprung up around here. One of my pet peeves is self pity, I really hate that sith. So don't fall into that, because it's a vicious circle, and it will destroy you.

And just one last thing....why don't you all just live it up while you're young?! Even if you are engaged, know you've met the one, whatever, why the hell can't you just wait?! Do things without worrying about that other person. If they really love you, they'll be there when you're both ready. Just a thought.

*end tough love session*

It's a valid point, but I'm not trying to rush my relationship or get married :p

Not yet, anyways.

I've just wanted to have some decent 'us' time with her, which is why I wanted her to come down in the first place..

or me :p

and Smurfette, i've been there with the guy pulling away and stuff. the hardest thing you can do is just wait it out. let him know you're still there for him and if he really wants this to work, he'll come around on his own. sometimes guys need that jolt of realizing they can lose you.

It wasn't directed at any one individual, more at a trend that I've noticed growing over the years. I can understand true love, but I think that younger people think they know what it is, and end up getting hurt more often than not. That's just me.

Du, I agree with you... Most of the time things DO get blown out of proportion... If you and your guys are meant to work out, you'll figure out how to work past things. It took my husband and I a while to figure that out, but you just have to learn to team up and work together. Easy? Not usually, you just have to suck it up and figure it out as you go.

Try this: don't call him. I know you may want to see him, to talk to him, but I bet if you go a while without calling or trying to get in touch, he's gonna start wondering what's up. Cause he's used to having you call. And when he does finally call you, don't answer. Have him wait, just like he does you. Might make him think twice about "being a loner".

well, i just replied to the email he sent me, so we'll see how this all works..because, honestly, i don't completely understand what all of this is about...all he keeps telling me is that he wants to rethink things..but i don't know what he would need to rethink other than wanting to move out of heather and chris' and schooling stuff...unless it's something i've done, in which case he isn't telling me everything..

In my own experience, especially with the military men, they start this crap, you need to be looking for a female somewhere or some idiot buddy that's feeding them ALL kinds of crap lines. Mil men are pack animals, although I'm sure Du will tell me otherwise, but if one says something, it's a downhill snowball. They're all gonna jump on the bandwagon and fuel the fire.

It honestly depends on the outfit. When I was single, on an all male ship, we single guys generally stuck together and didn't get involved in things going on between husbands and wives, or people in serious relationships. I've never had issue with people talking sith about peoples wives and junk, but I have seen it happen.

To be perfectly honest, I think the guy is probably thinking that maybe he got into a serious relationship too soon, cause now he's finding out that there's more out there. I don't want this to sound mean or anything, cause that's not my intention, it's just from my experience.

I knew a guy when I was back in San Diego, got married when he was 19, had a gorgeous son and a *ahem* hot wife. After we left San Diego, he went to Mayport, FL, and once his enlistment bonus got deposited into his account, he disappeared for two weeks. When he came back, he told his wife that he wasn't ready for a relationship. This is two years after they got married. Pretty ewokin immature. And they have a son. That's the sith that I'm talking about.

If your man is being all shady like this, YOU tell him how it's going to be. Lay down the law. If he doesn't like it, well, tough luck. It will save you more heartache in the future, believe me.

well...we talked things out...and that definately helped (tho i would have rathered it be in person) because now i know what all is going on...and he invited me to come to the cities with him, so we'll see how that goes this weekend...the main problem was just that i had no clue what he needed to think about..

Gotta have communication. It really is the basis for a good relationship.

Sometimes I feel that way when I'm at work. Sometimes the way we get treated, you would have no idea that we're all freakin adults there.

mine too. which reminds me....

the upstairs lab is not my job. my job is on the floor, or if necessary, cover other locations. hurry up and hire somebody to work those shifts, or post them as open shifts so other people can cover them. don't just assume i'll do it. i could have called in sick today, then you'd be screwed. and for crying out loud, do something about the kids in here cutting school. they just cause trouble.
