the tube system and having to carry things all over the stupid hospital isn't medical jargon :p

The tube system could be confusing I guess. You know when you go to the bank drive thru and you put your cheque in that little tube and it vacuums it's way inside to the tellers? Well most hospitals have a system of tubes like that connecting all the units to each other and the pharmacy and the lab and things, because nobody has time to actually hike all over. So you just stick your order sheet in a tube and send it to pharmacy, who puts the drugs in another tube and sends them back to you.

of course, then when the system breaks down or whatever, we have to physically take the orders down ourselves, or the blood samples or whatever, which is a royal pain in the rear.

Feel better? :p

Much better. See, putting it into laymans terms helps everyone. :D

Yeah, but it takes like three freaking paragraphs to explain it all in layman's terms :p

See, I could say: Stupid RTs that turn the delays on vent alarms way up.

Or I'd have to say: Stupid respiratory therapists, who are the people that take care of patients' breathing type needs such as breathing treatments (inhaled medications) and ventitalors (respirators) and things, that turn the delays on the ventilator alrams, which buzz loudly when the ventilators comes off the kid's trach (an artificial airway which is a tube through the throat allowing breathing) and is no longer helping them to breathe so that the buzzer doesn't go off until several minutes after the ventilator tubing has become disconnected leading to potential serious problems, such as the child not being able to breath well or not at all.

On second thought, how about you stick to the medical jargon (yes it's jargon), ok?

:p

Good God... my laptop's monitor went out on me last night. I must've spent hours messing with it until I called tech-support and got some guy who sounded like he was from India. I'm starting not to like outsourcing, especially with the heavy accents and all. So I gotta go with an ancient desktop that's collecting dust until the computer's fixed. :|

I have an ancient desktop for everyday use. :p

But I love Compy......sometimes.

Shure glad I ain't you. :p

Dell's got some good deals on cheap desktops.

Yeah I know...I can get one for $300......

Yay another rant:

I feel like a broken record, lol....anyway..

Parents just don't understand.

Okay, so at my college during January, in between the semesters we have interim. Basically we take a course for three weeks. Well, I don't need any more for credit ('cept to add to my amount I need to graduate).

Well, I've always thought it would be cool to go on an off-campus interim. There's this English one to New England, but it's like $1200 or more and very rustic.

But now, I've found this really interesting one that would count for CCE credit (cross-cultural engagement) for me... It's in Hawai'i and studies culture and religions there. Well, that ones around $3200. Twice as much as the English one, but most of that is airfare and food and lodging (the other one takes a bus).

I thought it'd be really cool and an awesome once in a lifetime experience. The only thing holding me back is the expense... But I can get up to $800 financial aid for it... and I could still pay it off after I go.

So I bring it up to my mom. She flips. Apparently I should spend my money on tuition, especially for classes that will help me get a job in addition to my other required classes. And apparently learning about Mormonism and Buddism and etc. in Hawai'i would corrupt me. Apparently I'm not supposed to have fun while at college.

If I just wanted a degree and a job, I could have went to a community college.

The only thing I can understand is the money factor.. My sister will be coming here next year so they'll have two kids in college. But I'll be working this summer and during the schoolyear... I'd be able to pay it.... But I guess I'm supposed to pay for tuition instead, to help out. This wouldn't be much more money 'cause I will get my money back for Jan. 'cause I won't be living on campus then. And she figures that if I work extra to pay for it my schoolwork will suffer. I won't let that happen, it kinda does that on its own. Face it, I'm not a stellar student and never will be.

*sighs*

I dunno....I can see her point.....but I also have a lot of points that warrant me going.... She just can't see that.

For now I'll just go to my interview for it.....make sure I actually qualify to go... and well, hope she comes around before my $500 deposit is due at the end of May.

It's lazy enough going to a cash machine to get money instead of going inside. lol

And usually it's easier to go inside and order food to go, then going to the drive-in.

grah... I was moving stuff around my room, and I decided to move my Lego Star Destroyer... Yeah. lol, you can see what's coming.

It was on top of my wardrobe, and I took the bridge tower off and put it to one side... and then promtly knocked it off. So it fell nearly 6 feet and broke into little bricks as it crashed into Floortooine. eep.

Just fixed that back together, and now the hull panels don't want to stay on. Remind me never to move it again after I get it in it's new home on one of my Lego shelves. lol
