Stupid worthless IS. I spend 30 minutes on the phone trying to explain to the dumb lady that the ancient paper weight of a computer I was on had no frigging ALT or Delete key, or don't you think I would have tried alt, tab, delete? Besides....it doesn't even run windows, so even if it had those keys, it probably wouldn't do any good. After another 5 minutes of trying to explain that no, there was no purple sticker, and that no, an ALT key still hadn't magically appeared, I just fixed the damned thing myself with a cold shut down/restart by flipping the switch. I didn't want to have to do that and potentially damage it, but hey, I can only take so much dumb.

I dunno what the hey this thing is. It's ancient.....pre-dates Windows, I'm sure. The only thing we use it for is to enter and look up labs, because that's the only thing that runs on it. I hightly doubt it's custom. It's just too old to be standard.

We also have a regular comp with Windows 2000 for everything else.

Sounds like our system. We've got archaic Cerner that's all DOS based. We don't even get a mouse

We have some mouseless desktops on campus, for checking e-mail and such.

But they have a pad on the keyboard like on laptops.

Good God... my laptop's monitor went out on me last night. I must've spent hours messing with it until I called tech-support and got some guy who sounded like he was from India. I'm starting not to like outsourcing, especially with the heavy accents and all. So I gotta go with an ancient desktop that's collecting dust until the computer's fixed. :|

I feel like such a freakin' fool. Finding out that feelings I had for someone were totally unreasonable and completely unnecessary (Well, I knew that, but now it's confirmed). Someone I've liked since this past summer. Someone I foolishly thought I had a chance with. Someone who was a good friend of mine. Someone who.... who was part of the reason I gave up another great guy.

I know it's not his fault, he couldn't have known. I didn't want him to know.

But now I feel brokenhearted. Strangely I don't feel anything more than a minor anger/sadness. Perhaps after the past year and a bit, I've become immune to heartache and pain.

I'm sure I'll feel something later.

I am SO done with men.

Well, done with caring for people. Caring and loving people never gets me anything except hurt. So why the hell should I do that anymore? Time for me to be heartless and uncaring.

And the worst part of all this, is the fact that the closest person to me, who said he'd always be there for me, is never here when I need him the most. I know he's busy, but I get busy too. And I still find time to talk to him or listen to him. I hardly make a lot of demand on his time and yet.... *sighs*

Over a year ago I really needed him when my relationship shattered in front of my eyes, but he was too involved in his new "woman." And now, now he's not there either.

Why did the tube system to OR have to go down at 2:30 right when they needed blood? Madeline walked blood over to them and then 5 minutes later I walked blood over to them. We could send anywhere else in the hospital, just not OR. And I swear platelets were on sale today, we went through oh 25 units of them, and they all have to be pooled together, we had two pools of 10 and a pool of 5. But talk about handcramps, try pooling 10 units of CRYO together. Ug, my poor hand

Hehe...one night the entire tube system went down and I somehow ended up the appionted runner for my unit AND ICU. They think they can do that crap at night, y'know...randomly take stuff down for repairs when in reality, there is more staff available to do running on days. Plus you know that's when the bad traumas are gonna be rolling in. nerfherders.

The tube system is great when it works, but when it goes down, look out. Especially when places want their blood 5 minutes ago
