Damn relatives pressuring me to apply to every single college/university that any one of them went to, knew someone who went to, or currently live by. 39 colleges is to damn many. Let me eliminate the ones I don't want to go to in peace!

I'm TRYING to cut it down to 10 max., but every time i try to remove one, i get some call from an aunt or cousin or mother's-stepsister's-friend's-brother reminding me of the deadline for their particular place and how it would be a "wonderful opportunity" for me, and then the parents go "of COURSE she'll be applying there" and seeing how they're the ones paying... I'm forced to go along.

It costs money to apply, usually. Just tell your parents that you are definitely NOT going to such n' such a place and then remind them how much the application fee for such n' such a place is. If I remember right, it cost me $30 to apply to WSU...so.....well, 39 x $30....they can do the math :p

i think it has something to do with test scores. i scored a 193 on the PSAT (13 points away from National Merrit. grr..), a 26 on the ACT (which i wasn't happy with), and an 1100 on the SAT (also not happy about). and i've gotten flyers from almost every school in the Northeast. never look at any of em though.

I think I probably marked the box saying not to send me info... because a 1430 on my SATs is definitely enough to spark interest. Glad I'm not getting the info though, because I've got enough school on my hands already.

1430 is very good Ana. I got 1220... And I was half-asleep at the time Stupid people making me get up and go take a test at seven-thirty on a Saturday morning. Bleh.

I applied to one college (Michigan State) and got in but I didn't get into the program that I wanted in (I wanted in their Lyman Briggs School of Science, which is an intensive science program) and they didn't offer me scholarship money, so my counselor told me to apply to Ferris and I got in and I got money. That made my decision pretty easy

Lol, my parents told me I could go anywhere I wanted, but they wouldn't pay for any of it unless I went to Wright State and commuted.

Too damn big for me though. The campus is as big as a city...has it's own zip code *shudders* Pretty cool campus life there, though.
