Brumak 2 Posted March 25, 2006 (edited) And the poster says, "FREEDOM! FOREVER!" Given ticket prices, why would you pay for a movie you knew nothing about? The element of surprise is enough for most to want. I for one loved V for Vendetta. Just saw it last night...but it had a good message, and enough action to keep most entertained. I give it an A. Drake 53 Posted March 27, 2006 I went to a drive-in and saw V for Vendetta as well as 16 Blocks with Bruce Willis. Vendetta was great. I give it an A+ because V's alliteration was astounding and the acting was altogether amazing. 16 Blocks wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Bruce is an old, drunk cop who has to escort a criminal witness (Mos Def) 16 blocks through New York (I think) to court to testify against some cops who were abusing their authority. Action ensues. It gets a B-
Neil1 0 Posted March 27, 2006 I'm in two minds over V for Vendetta. Yes it was entertaining, I don't remember being bored at any specific m0ment. Visually impressive. The V monologue thing - lovely. But yeah... I didn't like what the director did. He took a good story and made it cheesey, really cheesey. That's Hollywood. The facist state seemed almost comical, in the novel they also have an ethnic cleansing. They should have stuck with that. Oh, and Natalie Portman's acting... :/ She tried to hard to sound British. I wish she hadn't. As I said, I was never bored so I'll probably give it a B... ish.
Andy 60 Posted March 27, 2006 lol I hate it when people try to sound British. It just sounds wrong. I mean, even Ewan McGregor can't do it, and he IS British. lol

GI_Admiral 2 Posted March 28, 2006 lol V using all those V in the beginning was awesome. Now that you mention it, the government could have been portrayed to be a lot stronger/harsher than it was
Alexander 0 Posted March 28, 2006 "This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-?-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V." If any of you can say that at a normal pace without messing up I would be impressed.
Drake 53 Posted March 28, 2006 (edited) "Are you like a crazy person?" It's simple. He went through the actions of talking then did a voice over in editing reading a script. Edited March 28, 2006 by Drake

Neil1 0 Posted March 28, 2006 the end part, the bit with the hooded masks... symbolic, yes, but still a bit cheesey. And the dead being in the faces of all those masked protesters... I dunno. Perhaps those roses would have been more app. "Memorable Quotes from V for Vendetta (2005) IMDB.com - full list - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/quotes Evey Hammond: You're getting back at them for what they did to you. V: What was done to me was monstrous. Evey Hammond: Then they created a monster. V: Remember, remember, the fifth of November, The gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot. Evey Hammond: Who--who are you? V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what... and what I am is a man in a mask. Evey Hammond: I can see that. V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. GI_Admiral 2 Posted March 28, 2006 Eh, I didnt have a problem with the end, I thought it was a good way to get the symbolism across

Princess 35 Posted April 1, 2006 Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector A+ This movie was hilarious. I was so glad that I didn't waste $5 on a drink because I would have spit it on the seat in front of me because I was laughing so hard. I laughed the entire movie. This is a movie that you're going to have to see multiple times just to hear everything. Everyone walking out of the theater was saying the same thing "I can't wait til this comes out on DVD. I can't wait to see this again."
