Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted April 24, 2006 Yay! Sadly, I haven't been paying much attention to the pre-Derby races as much as I used to. i haven't paid much attention either. i did see the Arkansas Derby, so i know a couple horses like Sinister Minister and Lawyer Ron, but that's about it, lol. Mara 29 Posted April 25, 2006 Yeah. And I saw some headline last week about Baffert having three horses in it this year.
GI_Admiral 2 Posted April 25, 2006 Mara not looking good for the canes =/ going into Montreal with the Canadians having steam.
Mara 29 Posted April 26, 2006 They have five games. I'm still an optimistic fan, as no doubt you are as well with the Wings down.
Princess 35 Posted April 26, 2006 They got robbed last night. Ok the Williams goal in the first overtime, can see why that one got called back, stupid goalie lifting the net, but the penalties were sith last night. Getting hooked between the legs and getting called on the dive. It wasn't no dive. Grr. That's ok, there's still 4 games left in the series. Detroit must win the next one though. Can't be down 3-1 going back to Detroit. And I'm never making a wisecrack about games going into multiple overtimes again
GI_Admiral 2 Posted April 26, 2006 Such a BS call in OT...did the goalie lift the net? That should be a penalty there lol
Princess 35 Posted April 27, 2006 I'm not sure if he lifted it or if he just bumped it and it came up, yet it stayed on the moorings, that was weird
Mara 29 Posted April 27, 2006 Eric Staal is my hero. That is all.
GI_Admiral 2 Posted April 27, 2006 lol Carolina, 2 losses (one embarassingly bad) and an OT win...they gotta start playing like the #2 seed (Then again, so do the wings...)
Mara 29 Posted April 28, 2006 They've won most of their games that have gone into overtime. And they should be fine now that they've switched goalies. Ward>>>Gerber
Princess 35 Posted April 28, 2006 Woohoo! 4-2 win in regulation. Refs are still calling the games amazingly sithty though
Mara 29 Posted April 29, 2006 Yeah, our 3-2 win shoulda been 4-2... but oh well.

Chickenman 9 Posted May 4, 2006 (edited) Last night's Sox game was a heartbreaker. Down by one run in the bottom of the ninth, with 2 outs, Dustan Mohr struck out swinging. However, the ball got away from the Blue Jays catcher, Gregg Zaun, and Mohr galloped to first to keep the Red Sox's hope alive. He was replaced by pinch runner Willie Harris, who stole second. Zaun made his second mistake of the inning, making a bad throw to second to attempt to catch Harris stealing. The throw missed its target, bouncing into the outfield. Harris seized the opportunity, and dashed to third. Now only 90 feet away from a tying run, all that Jason Varitek of the Red Sox had to do was hit a single. Jason Varitek, captain of the Red Sox. Jason Varitek, my favorite player. Jason Varitek, the guy who struck out, losing the game. *Drinks heavily* Edited May 4, 2006 by Chickenman

Mara 29 Posted May 6, 2006 M'kay.. I figured around 6... Yeah I saw that headline. Wonder if it's a sign of what's to come today, lol. There was a longshot last year.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted May 6, 2006 long shots usually win the Oaks. and favorites hardly ever win these big races. so don't bet on the favorite. :p
