Ayingel 24 Posted June 9, 2005 in sculpture class, we have some people in our set in independent study. Jared, in sculpture, made a cement idol. Kristi, in independent study, helped make this whole adventure interesting. *Jared chips profusely at his block of cement now resembling an idol* Kristi: What are you doing? Jared: Forget the stupid horns...it looks more like a brain. Kristi: You're gonna break it! Jared: No I'm not! Kristi: No one's going to worship it if it's broken. *Jared chips away more, aiming for Kristi* Erin: *to Kristi* Heh, no one's gonna worship you if you're broken. Kristi: Stop it! *Jared stops* *in walks Scott, super senior* Scott: Look! A senior prank in the making! Jared: What do you mean? Scott: We could put it in the chapel and have all of the seniors "worship" it. Kristi: It's almost broken. No one will worship it if it's broken. ***Note...I go to a porochial school. we have a chapel, and if we were to put that idol any where, heh...see ya Scott. oh well, they've all graduated. Andy 60 Posted June 9, 2005 Heh, I went to Roman Catholic schools. The high school had a chapel which was open all day, but I never really saw people go in there. They did though, I know, my high school had a lot of bad luck when it came to pupils dying and stuff... :|
Ayingel 24 Posted June 9, 2005 wow. that sucks. this year's graduating class had a freak accident their freshman year...: St. Paul boy dies after wrestling match CHASKA (AP) -- A ninth-grade high school wrestler died Saturday morning after apparently suffering a seizure during a match. Dennis Kingsbury, 14, became unresponsive about 30 seconds into his match, said John Kingsbury, the boy's father. Dennis wrestled for St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul. The team was competing at a tournament in Chaska. Paul Kassulke, a St. Croix assistant coach, said the referee stopped the match when Dennis' opponent put him into an illegal headlock. The referee stopped the match to award Dennis a point for the infraction, then noticed Dennis was lying unresponsive on the mat. "He went over too easy with no resistance," John Kingsbury said. "The other wrestler knew something was wrong and broke the hold." Kassulke said it didn't appear Dennis hit his neck awkwardly on the mat. "I saw his eyes kind of fixed and staring," he said. "His teeth were kind of clenched, there was a little bit of trembling." Chaska Police Department spokesman Jon Kehrberg said the wrestler was in full cardiac arrest when emergency units arrived. He died at St. Francis Regional Hospital in Shakopee after CPR attempts were unsuccessful. Kehrberg said the cause of death was unknown. Police expected autopsy results next week. "The other guy was not to blame on this at all. The official did a good job of getting in the way," Kassulke said. John Kingsbury said his son, who also played football, had been in good health and the cause of death didn't appear to be wrestling-related. "He just had a physical two months ago. He was fine. He could run three or four miles without being winded," John Kingsbury said. I know all of the people mentioned, minus Dennis. I was at the school the Monday after he died, and the officer mentioned was talking to freshman religion class I sat in on...
Andy 60 Posted June 9, 2005 (edited) wow. that sucks. this year's graduating class had a freak accident their freshman year...: I knew four people who died while at my high school. In 1993 (while i was still at primary school) there was a minibus accident on the M40, in which 13 pupils and a teacher were killed (I knew two of them). Then there was Martin O'Donnell, who was in my year during my second year at high school, he died from leukemia, I think. Then in 1997, there was akid in the year below me, Robert Sheer, who was in a coma after apparently hanging himself. Spooky fact is that the night Robert Sheer died I actually had a dream that he did. :| Edited June 9, 2005 by beeurd
