Heartbleed Bug

Recommended Posts

Drake

A vulnerability has been found in the security of OpenSSL cryptographic software. OpenSSL is responsible for password security over roughly 2/3 of websites on the internet.

If you use Chrome, an extension called Chromebleed has been created to alert of sites that are vulnerable to the bug. I'm not getting any warnings for GB.net and it sounds like banking sites are secure.

I don't think GB uses SSL, just the basic security. I could be wrong but I think SSL is when the URL changes to https: at the start.

And if there's a little green padlock icon before the url. On Chrome, at least.

Last time I used IE or Firefox I think they put a padlock in the bottom bar. Probably changed by now though lol
