EA commits to a decade of Star Wars gaming

It has been revealed that the Star Wars gaming deal between Disney and EA is one that will last at least a decade. The gaming giant signed a ten year licence to continue to publish video games set in the Star Wars universe. So far the only confirmed game in development is DICE's next installment in the Star Wars: Battlefront series, with development and support continuing as planned for the MMO The Old Republic.

EAs chief financial officer, Blake Jorgenson, insists that they do not plan on simply creating games based on the movies and will continue to delve into and add to the rich diversity of the expanded universe.

BioWare, original developers of the Knights of the Old Republic series, and Dead Space developer Visceral have also been mentioned in connection to future Star Wars titles. Unfortunately, however, there has still been no sign of a revival of the eagerly anticipated 1313 project.

I want 1313 dammit!  I don't give a ewok about MMOs or Battlefront.  Give me 1313 and maybe another Force Unleashed and/or Knights of the Old Republic.

Tell me about it... I'd also love another Jedi Knight game, hopefully showing what Kyle Katarn was doing for most of the war against the Yuuzhan Vong. In my head that game looks amazing. :D
