Release date 12-26-12

The Death Star has been destroyed. The Rebellion has had its first big victory. And Han Solo, newly conscripted to the Rebel cause, is on the run from the Empire and the bounty hunters eager to turn him in for the huge reward being offered by Jabba the Hutt. Now a mysterious stranger offers Han the resources to execute a daring robbery from a major crime lord. The mission is impossible, but the prize will make Han a free man. With no choice but to accept, Han Solo and his Wookiee partner, Chewbacca, set out to assemble a cast of rogues, knaves, and cons with the right combination of wits, skills, and derring-do to pull off an operation of this complexity and scale—the best scoundrels the galaxy has to offer. And then the game is on: a rip-roaring, intergalactic, Ocean’s Eleven-style heist adventure starring Han Solo, Chewie, and Lando Calrissian, written by #1 New York Times bestselling Star Wars author Timothy Zahn!

Started reading it last week.

As I heard from Tim Zahn himself at C6, he wanted to call this book Solo's Eleven but the publisher wouldn't let him. It's got Winter and Kell Tainer in it too!

The book arrived today - got it from Amazon a week ago...it's now in my furry paws. :p I was standing up at the kitchen table, sorting the mail, and thought, "I'll just read a few pages..." and before too long, I realised I was a chapter and a half in. :p :)

I'd forgotten just how much Timothy Zahn's writing transports one into the SW galaxy. :D

    • Star Wars: Thrawn

Star Wars: Thrawn by Timothy Zahn reintroduces Grand Admiral Thrawn to Star Wars canon in this novel set across several years, leading up until the start of Star Wars Rebels season three.
The novel was adapted into a Marvel Comic series of the same name.
    • Who Should Be Next?

Well, with the news that Thrawn would be rejoining the Star Wars canon, I thought it might be fun for us to banter over who should be next from the EU/Legends to gain entrance into Star Wars canon, whether in film form or TV show form or other media form.

I think you guys obviously know who I want. (But I find that one doubtful... depending on what and when we find out more about Luke's backstory post-ROTJ and pre-TFA).
      But what are some others?

    • Han and Lando Adventures to be reissued

The Han Solo and Lando Calrissian Adventures novels are to be reissued under the new Legends banner, according to an official Star Wars Books post on Facebook.Way back in the early days of the sadly defunct Star Wars Expanded Universe two series of novels centred on the characters of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian. These novels were significant in bringing Star Wars off the screen and into our own imaginations, and the powers that be have recognised this by making them among the first books to be reprinted with the newly created Star Wars Legends branding.

These fun filled trilogies were originally published between 1979 and 1983, and while they may not be the brightest shining beacons of the old expanded universe, but they are a must-read for any die-hard fan.

The Han Solo Adventures by Brian Daley focus on Han and Chewbacca as they travel the Corporate Sector of the galaxy during the years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, while the Lando Calrissian Adventures by L Neil Smith recount Lando's exploits as captain of the Millennium Falcon several years previously, before he lost the vessel to Han.
