Mara 29 Posted March 23, 2009 So this morning the doorbell woke me up... and I just ignored it, since it was 11am and I was still tired. But it rang two more times, once at the front door, too. So, like... I know my mom and sister are out, and I'm wondering who the hell is ringing my doorbell at 11 am. So I crawl out of bed and get slightly presentable and go and see what's going on. Just as I get to the dining room, I see some red cargo van pulling out of my driveway. An unmarked van. I'm like... okaaaaaaay. I try to watch it through the window without letting them see me, wondering if it's someone going door-to-door. But then it backs into my neighbor's driveway. I'm a little freaked out now. I wander back to my room and through the bathroom window see a guy in a dark baseball cap walking past. Through our backyard. By the time I get to the front of the house again, the van has left. I'm more freaked out now, but don't know whether to call my mom because I don't know where she is. Later, I thought about calling the cops, but I didn't get that much info on these guys. So I'm just sitting at home, and get some breakfast, because I'm too freaked out to sleep anymore. But here's the best part: I tell my mom when she gets home, and she then proceeds to lecture me on what I should have done. How I should have tried to get a plate number or something. And that I couldn't have called her because she forgot to turn her cell on. And that maybe I should have called the cops. *sigh* I'm sorry, I was just a little freaked out about the whole thing and by the time I thought about calling the cops, they were long gone. Apparently I am supposed to be cool-headed and observant all the damn time. Gah. If they come again, I will call the cops. I don't like people I don't know wandering through my backyard.
