Ana 15 Posted September 25, 2008 *slumps into booth* I can't believe I was just ran into by an off-duty firefighter. Now my driver's door won't open all the way. So that's gonna cost a good chunk to fix. Of COURSE this happens the same week my computer's hard drive starts making the persistent beep of death... SOMEONE NEEDS TO HIRE ME, DANGIT. Chickenman 9 Posted September 25, 2008 You know, most women would be overjoyed at a chance meeting with an off-duty fireman. But I guess you just can't please some people. :p

Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted September 25, 2008 depends on who is considered at fault and if the guy's insurance company pays up. if he has insurance. and her rate could go up since she was in an accident regardless of who's at fault. so his insurance may cover the damages, but she could get charged more in the long run with a rate hike. at least i think. i don't know much about that aspect of driving law. Andy 60 Posted September 26, 2008 "Accident forgiveness"? How can you forgive someone for an accident, because if it was an accident that implies there was no blame anyway. :p

Princess 35 Posted September 26, 2008 Yeah, but when I had my accident and hurt my back and got whiplash, my insurance was trying to tell me that because I live in the same household as my parents and am on their policy that they couldn't cover my medical. My mom straightened that out right away

Yeah, but mostly I wanted to quote Dennis Haysbert. The President in 24, the Sergeant in The Unit, the Voodoo worshipping baseball player in Major League, and an insurance spokesman. Is there anything this man can't do? The answer is no. Aargh! It's pouring, and my arm hurts like crazy, and I'm stuck in the world's most boring class! *headbar* It's pouring over here too. The only difference is I like the rain. And I'm not injured.
Andy 60 Posted September 26, 2008 if you go so long without being in an accident, Allstate will lower your rate. Oh, we have a no-claims discount here. I haven't seen any insurance provider that doesn't have a no-claims discount system. But basically, if you don't make a claim off your insurance they lower the premium for the next year. Obviously there is usually a maximum no-claims otherwise they'd end up having to pay people to insure their cars. The discount is usually transferable too, so you don't need to worry about losing your discount when you transfer to a different insurance provider. Also, a lot of the big companies now protect you against uninsured drivers too. Which they probably should do anyway seeing as it's illegal to drive without insurance cover.
