i can understand the sentiment. i hate being called by a shortened version of my name. my whole life i have only allowed one person to shorten my name, and that was more because at the time i was terrified of the man than because i liked the nickname. it's grown on me since then.

but yeah, she took it about 50 steps too far. a polite request to please use her full name in future correspondence would have sufficed.
