hmmm you call it desensitized, I call it realism. Sadly things like this will happen. I think that the aftermath of this shooting is just as bad. You have everyone pointing fingers and sadly using this to try to jump start careers. Now some kid has been arrested for creating a level that looks like his school in a video game. The police searched his home and confiscated a "terrorist" weapon, aka a hammer.....used to fix his bed. He was also asian. In addition, Chris is right, anything this guy was associated with (Asian, anti social...and some how video game player (though there is no evidence he played one)) will now be under heavy scrutiny.

Sadly I agree with Du. There will be no such thing as peace, and the fact is, the aftermath will probably help stem more fears and stereotypes, potentially leading to more violence.
