First off, I didn't notice the porn banner on the page, I was too busy laughing.

Second, it's just some dumb arab reading off a piece of poster board and "pretending" do download Bonzi Buddy off of Kazaa. Bonzi Buddy installs itself on your computer on it's own!! I don't think it's illegal to download it off Kazaa.

Princess, you seriously need to lighten up. It's a joke, ok? A J - O - K - E. You know what that is? It's a thing that's not serious, and intended to make people laugh. It's some guy pretending to be a leet hacker, just for siths and giggles. I mean, wow, oh no, he's teaching our children how to hack microsoft and obtain illegal mp3s. Let me ask you, how many songs have you downloaded off the internet Princess?

1. When a thread is locked, you do not restart it unless it's one of the threads that we restart because of popularity.

2. When you have a problem with something that happens here, we deal with it here, either via PM or through this thread. Don't start a conversation with me on AIM with the first words being "What the hell? Why did you lock my thread?" I didn't really appreciate that especially considering the fact that you had also PM'd me about the same topic here.

3. Drake removed the link because it had a pornographic banner in it. In your new thread you said:

Now, having known that you'd already had a thread locked on the same topic, why, did you repost the thread? Why not just email the video to your friends?

And I do know what a joke is. I like jokes. This, eh I don't really care for.

You know how that program works? People put files they want to share in a special folder, files that they either paid for or obtained the same way, and other users can browse that folder and copy their files to their hard drive. Same thing as your friend paying for some music and giving you a copy.

And it is relevant to the topic because you're openly bashing what you call "hacking", when you do exactly what the guy in the video was doing. He downloaded Bonzi Buddy, which is free, by the way, using a program that, in and of itself, is completely legal. Nothing illegal was done in that video.

I don't get why you keep saying it's about hacking. The hacking part is a joke. He's not hacking, any more than you actually keep rabid animals in your home to eat people you don't like.

I didn't see the porn banner the first time. I'm sorry for that. But nothing else about that video breaks ANY rules, nor is illegal in ANY way, and that is why I am pissed. I reposted it, to make YOU happy, saying that if anybody wanted it, I'd send it to them, so this forum is NOT responsible for anything, I am. I even removed the word "hacking", oh, such a bad word. And what, you just lock it again. Thanks.

Here's why it's a big deal. There are times that I don't mind people IMing me about stuff here, if I've got the time to take care of it, I will. But then there are times when I'm just online talking to friends and I don't want to deal with GB issues. This may be hard for some people to believe, but my life does not revolve around piddly little messageboard issues. I popped on here for a minute last night, saw a thread that I didn't approve of, and locked it. You then sent me a PM about the thread, and IM'd me on AIM. And then you had the balls to restart the locked thread.

The right way does NOT constitute restarting a locked thread and advertising to send friends the link that had been removed by a moderator. Why not just talk to your friends on AIM or something and say, "Hey, I found this really cool video, wanna see it?"

Ok, let's talk about difference between fantasy and reality shall we? In my opinion, there's a bit of a difference in a thread where you're talking, even as a joke, about something that can happen in real life. In contrast, I really don't see how you could have a genetically altered wampa or rancor eat someone in real life. That's called RP.

I don't do file sharing software though. The 2 or 3 songs that I have that I don't have CDs for have been those "You've got to hear this awesome song" things from my friends

If I may be allowed to address the issue with the Garden of Torture, seeing as it's my thread and all.

Like Princess said, there is a difference between fantasy and reality. There are extremely strict guidelines on the first page of that thread. The original version was called the House of Pain. And through 500 pages I managed to come up with those guidelines based on old fashion, time-tested experience. The Garden of Torture has been approved by Beeurd and the rest of the administrative staff. Though it is the mod staff's job to keep order on the rest of the site, I take it upon myself to ensure that the guidelines of the GoT are strictly adhered to, and the admins know this. The GoT does not advertise a specific threat to these other members. Hacking does. THAT is the difference.

It was a joke, IT'S NOT SERIOUS. You understand what a joke is? Obviously not. I don't care if you think it's funny or not, that makes no difference. Lots of other people do, and all I'm trying to do is share it with them.

And yet you insist on locking my second thread which broke no written rule. Common sense? My foot. If you want to enforce something based on what you think is "common sense", maybe you should put it in writing, in which case this wouldn't happen. My second thread was perfectly fine. Since you locked my first one, I had no chance to fix my errors.

If I was in your shoes, I would have edited my post to remove the link because of the pornographic content, and told everyone to contact me if they wanted to see it. That removes the middle-man, GB.net, and takes the responsibility off of your shoulders. Just because YOU don't find it funny is no grounds for you to lock my topic, and say that what I'm doing is illegal and all that, admin or not. Seems to me like you're abusing your power...

And while I'm at it, let's use some of your logic here...

You have 2 or 3 songs eh? Doesn't matter if your friend said "OMG THIS IS SO COOL LISTEN TO IT!!". You didn't pay for it, it's illegal. So since you yourself are guilty of something you so adamantly oppose, I think you should just be quiet.

I say again, that video had nothing to do with hacking. You can't even hack using Kazaa. It's a freaking gag for crying out loud, the guy is a nutbag, or he was put up to it by his friends, or he did it cause he was bored. He used a legal program to download free, legal software. I don't care what he calls it, it's legal and is NOT HACKING. When will you get that through your head?

Bah, hacking. Dling stuff off Kaaza isn't hacking. Hacking isn't illegal either. Hacking other people's stuff is, but you can hack your own stuff all you want or other folks with permission. You know the government hires people to hack stuff all the time? Sure, they try to hack their own systems to see if they can get in and find flaws in security, they hack stuff from foreign countries to find bad guys and their info... Companies like Micro$oft do it too.

And, uh, hacking isn't really the sort of topic to make a joke unacceptable, the porn banner, yes, hacking joke no. In that case, better illegalize leet speach, the language of wannabe hackers world wide.
