Chickenman 9 Posted July 28, 2009 There is absolutely nothing more frusterating than tracking down the albums of bands no one has ever heard of.
Chickenman 9 Posted September 12, 2009 I am in music heaven right now. Muse releases their new CD in two days. Pearl Jam's new CD is out on the 20th, Brand New's new CD is out on the 22nd, and then Breaking Benjamin's new CD arrives on the 29th. 3 out of those 4 bands are in my top 5 bands of all time, and and the other one used to be in my top favorite bands of all time. Also out this year were releases from Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Metric, PJ Harvey, Silversun Pickups, The Thermals and a slew of others that I haven't managed to get out and buy just yet. So far this has been the best year in music I can remember.
Andy 60 Posted September 12, 2009 I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on Muse's new album. On a related note, I am tempted to start buying CDs again rather than downloading stuff. Since there is always Spotify around for my music streaming requirements, which is a nice alternative to buying stuff on iTunes.
Chickenman 9 Posted September 12, 2009 My goal this year has been to buy every single CD that a band I love releases. By the way, you can stream Muse's new CD on a few sites, including the Guardian UK and Facebook. It's...different sounding, and I'm not entirely sure what to make of it yet. But it's awesome. Uncle Du 22 Posted September 12, 2009 Where can you stream it from FB? I looked, but did not find...
Chickenman 9 Posted September 13, 2009 http://apps.facebook.com/ilike/artist/Muse You may need to get the iLike application, but that's an application you should have anyway. :p
Princess 35 Posted September 13, 2009 I just bought Sister Hazel's new album Release today. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet though

Uncle Du 22 Posted September 13, 2009 Indeed! I've already hooked it to my iTunes. ;)
Drake 53 Posted September 14, 2009 Hmmm...this seems like a good enough thread for this... I don't like Taylor Swift's music at all but... Kanye West is a douchebag.
Andy 60 Posted September 14, 2009 I knew he was a complete douche, but that really takes the biscuit. There is no excuse for rudeness of that calibre.
Mara 29 Posted September 14, 2009 (edited) iLike is an awesome app. I should use it more. Oh, and I've been meaning to listen to some Muse CD's, but haven't gotten to it yet. Edited September 14, 2009 by Mara
Chickenman 9 Posted September 16, 2009 Have you listened to them outside of album form?
Mara 29 Posted September 16, 2009 Me? I've barely listened to them at all.
Chickenman 9 Posted September 17, 2009 That's what I meant. Have you heard any of their singles or anything? I only ask cause they're a kind of weird space prog-rock, so I'm interested in how you'll feel about them. They've tended to notice that among their fans are those that say "I normally don't listen to music as soft at you guys but..." or "I normally don't listen to music as hard as you guys but..." Mara 29 Posted September 17, 2009 Um, just once in the car with my friend on the way back from Detroit last year. I don't really remember much, but she did recommend them to me.
Chickenman 9 Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) I second your friend's recommendation. Vehemently. Edited September 18, 2009 by Chickenman
Mara 29 Posted September 18, 2009 Hehe. Too bad she's in Indiana now, *Sigh*
Chickenman 9 Posted September 23, 2009 It may be too early to tell, but "Daisy" by Brand New is the best album of all time.
Mara 29 Posted September 23, 2009 My library branch has no Muse, so I'll have to loan from another in the system.
Chickenman 9 Posted September 24, 2009 Your library branch is a Supermassive Black Hole. >.>
Mara 29 Posted September 24, 2009 Nah, my library system is awesome. Plus, they've stopped returning loaned items, so it's possible my branch had a copy, but it's sitting somewhere else. I'm sure one of the 20 branches has one copy. ;)
Mara 29 Posted November 19, 2009 And it does! Been listening to "Black Holes and Revelations" a bit the last couple days. I think my favorite track is "Starlight."
Sticks 1 Posted December 30, 2009 Mine has to be I belong to You...and not the Twilight New Moon version. The real one. I think Muse is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands now...can't believe I never listened to them until a month or so ago
