Uncle Du 22 Posted October 2, 2005 As I'm sure everyone knows, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is going to be in theaters this holiday season. I remember reading these books when I was really young, my Dad loved C.S. Lewis, and he had the original set of books. I just bought my own box set, and am about to get back into it. I thought that this was defintiely deserving of a thread here.
Tsl 7 Posted October 2, 2005 I used to loooooove this series. I used to play like I was going to Narnia in my closet (since that was the closest thing I had to a wardrobe, lol) I have the series and I definitely want to reread them soon.
Ana 15 Posted October 2, 2005 Love Chronicles of Narnia. Read all the books enough times that they're approaching memorized. Hey, has anyone else seen the older movies? My cousins and I used to do a Narnia movie marathon on Christmas Day. Start soon as presents were finished, continue until just before dinner. Good times. Tsl 7 Posted October 2, 2005 The crazy old movies are what got me into Narnia. I was only 7 or 8 when I first saw them and then I read the books and everything ^^
Mara 29 Posted October 3, 2005 We might rent out a whole theater when the movie comes out.
Drake 53 Posted October 3, 2005 OMG, I love Narnia. The trailer got me more excited then I was for LotR, I think.
Chickenman 9 Posted October 4, 2005 I read the first one, (chronologically) forget the name. It was okay. Never got very far into witch and the wardrobe. *shrug*

Tsl 7 Posted October 4, 2005 CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien were very good friends, though apparently Tolkien was disappointed in Narnia for being too allagorical :p
Drake 53 Posted October 4, 2005 Also, WETA worked on Narnia too. :p

Mara 29 Posted October 28, 2005 Cool. We saw some extras about the movie yesterday..... like the setting and visual effects... Dude... Four different design companies worked on this movie... including the ones who did LOTR and ILM.... Took 'em two years to get Aslan done.... and he looks like a real lion.. Drake 53 Posted October 29, 2005 WETA and ILM? Damn...that's a powerful combination. They're grrrrrrrrrrreat!
Mara 29 Posted October 29, 2005 Yup, plus two other companies. I saw some of the stuff they were working one...dude... awesome. Like the big end battle.... 1500 against 50000 or something.... I don't remember... each individually animated with it's own personality like.... Sometimes all the companies would be working on the same scene, different aspects, sending different things to each other. It was cool. It was filmed mostly in New Zealand (surprise ) and the Czech Republic. And Aslan's not a tiger.
