Princess 35 Posted April 8, 2006 Ok so I went to a lecture yesterday on Avian Influenza. We're currently at a WHO level 3 Pandemic alert which means that there are widespread cases of infection but no to few cases of human to human contact. There has been one suspected case of human to human where a mother was taking close care of an ill child. It's a deep lung viral pneumonia so it's not easily spread from human to human. However the virus has mutated since it reached Europe. And you can get the most current information from http://www.WHO.org because everything that we know about H5N1 is changing hourly

Alexander 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Is it bad to be rooting for the bird flu? Yes it is, if you're basing your "rooting" on a blind-sighted (and in a lot of ways cliche) view that humanity deserves it.
