Star Wars Rpg

Remember that site I made a while back ago?

I hated it.

With a passion.

So I decide to redo it. Sadly, I'm using proboards, since I'm not nearly good enough in coding to use invision. Before it died, I had a poll on the old one that asked what time period the RPG should be in. Sith War won, but now I'm not sure if I should just start out as a Sith War RPG and not ask any future members.

That's one problem.

Another is that, since I know nothing about coding, the boards is going to look horrible.

Any ideas/help/comments would be greatly apreciated.

Yeah, but to make better backgrounds, better headers, all sorts of little things that make your website that much better looking, you need to use html coding.

HTML is extremely easy. And I'm not just being an ass about it.

Go pick up a book at your library. Anything but HTML for Dummies with is utter crap. Sit down and go through the examples in the book chapter by chapter, and you can teach yourself in....like, a day if you put some effort into it. You could at least know enough to code colors and simple web design and layout.

In fact...most of html is exactly like the code used on this board.

instead of [ i] [/i ], it's <i> </i>

To change font color it's

<font color="blue"> </font> rather than

You see? Very similar.

I've used some before, I just figure it would take awhile to learn.

Then again, it could just be this.

*Chucks HTML for dummies out the window*

lol, i taught myself everything i know about HTML.

looking at a pages source is a great way to see how people did things. of course, back when i started learning HTML most pages were a lot simpler, so i had an advantage. lol

some of the formatting can be a royal pain, though.

There is a series of programming books called Learn _____ in 24 Hours.

That's the HTML book I have, and it's good. I also used one called HTML by Example, which was also very good.

HTML for Dummies is poorly written, organized, and I couldn't make heads nor tails of half of it.

Well, I've done some work on my board (as you can see).......though, a lot my bro did.

But a lot of the extras to add to Proboards, can be found in Proboards Support....FAQ's.

But feel free to ask me with questions. I've fiddled with my board enough.

(Damn hackers).
