I'm all at Uni now, which is cool. For a start: ?60 for faster-than-broadband internet access for a whole year.

On the other hand, I've yet to work out how to get the ftp thing to work arouond the proxy server, which means I can't update anything. And for once, I've actually got things I want to update!

I've been needing to rant about this one for a loooooooooong time. I've just been too lazy to type it.

Basically, my street can never play a sport for one simple reason. We're all asses when it comes to sports. Even me. I do have a slight advantage because I'm the oldest, but none of my friends live near me, so I have to stick with my neighbors. Plus, since they're all younger than me, I go easy on them. Very easy. Some of them could actually be pretty good if they wern't so occupied with being asses.

John: Me. I'm probably the least assish of them all. I try to take it as just a friendly game, not a cutthroat competition. When it's rigged so there is an unfair team, instead of debating about it for 20 minutes, I'll take the worse team. (And I usually win :p ) But when the others are really getting on my nerves, I don't care about the score. I just concentrate on making the morons hurt.

Jashaun: I take that back about me being least assish. This guy is. He's a 4th grader, and is probably 2nd best on the street. That sounds sad, but it isn't. This kid is awesome. I'm usually paired up with him because Sam and Ray (more on them later) rig it so that they're together (they're the two biggest) The thing is, me and Jashaun are small, but we have these things called skills, things that Ray and Sam don't have. We win because I can come up with good plays, have good quaterbacking skills, and Jashaun is just good at everything.

Kellie: My little sister. She runs off and cries when Sam and Ray make fun of her, or when she doesn't do a play right or gets tackled a little roughly. Yet she tries to convince us that she's tough. We want her, but when she quits in the middle of the game, it unbalances the teams. We don't play with her that much at all.

Raymond: The best quaterback on the street. He's just good at putting the ball in the hands of the reciever. He's also big, so he makes a good blocker. The problem is that he will only play if he's on the team that will definitly win. The funny thing is, he can't tell which team will definitly win, and always picks the team that always loses. Funny. And when his team does score, it's because of Sam, not him. Yet he rubs it in like he was a big part of the play. Anyway, we can never have diffrent teams, because he only wants to be on Sam's. That disrupts the fun.

Sam: I've hated this kid my whole life. He's a year younger than me, but is my size, and possibly a bit stronger. Because of this, he figures he can beat me up. I wonder why every fight we've been in is either a stalemate, or he runs home to his mom with a black eye and/or bloddy nose. Even though he's the fastest, and is hard to tackle, he's the last person you want on the team. He does everything himself, and when he screws up, he blames his teamates. I mean he screams at them about how it's their fault. He's also a moron when it comes to plays. He sucks at QB, but doesn't trust Ray to be QB, and instead makes him WR, which he sucks at. Even though it's his. And he tries to act cool, yet he wears a vest to school everyday. The same vest. His "friends" are a bunch of kids he follows around, that really wish he'd buzz off. He also has no hygiene.. The reason we can't play ball when he's around is because:

a) his teamates don't want to play for him anymore, and quit.

b) he breaks the rules like Martha Stewart steals money. This results in us not wanting to play. When playing baseball once, we called "no stealing, no leading, no bunting" I pitch a strike. He runs from second to third. When asked about why he stole, which was against the rules, he said: "...*trying to come up with a good lie.*...did I say stealing? I meant sliding."

c) his whole assish personality usually results in a fight between me and him. This is precisley what happened the other day, and now no one on the street will talk to me because I hurt their glorious leader.

Mike: One of Raymond's friends. He's more of an ass than Ray, but he usually doesn't bother me too much, I just ignore him. The reason we can't play when he's around is because he brings all these playground rules no one's ever heard of. Sam, of course, loves them.

To sum it up:

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!

Ah...I remember back in the old days when the kids from our street used to go onto the hill for a good old game of British Bulldogs. Classic. Shame they banned it in schools because it's too violent

mmm...This one could have been predicted a long time ago...but preps. I can't stand them. Especially now that we have photoshoots going on for the viewbook for SCLHS. People are just getting on my nerves. People are picked by "peers..." well...My roommie and I know nothing about being elected by peers, and most of the people selected are...jerks, preps, plastic, etc. Some of the people, however, are far from that. For example, me. I'm the little person who sits in the corner of the room and just watches everyone. I'm the one who doesn't speak unless spoken to, the one who spends all day reading, the one who hangs out with the "out crowd." Whatever. The five of us picked to do a mock read through for the play were scorned by the others chosen for other reasons because we are the ones not usually chosen for anything of the sort. I mean, look at it. Preps vs an epitome of an anti-prep. Very interesting. Acutally...now that I think about it...there were only four people out of the nine chosen for the picture who were actually serious actors. (me=serious actor) I guess this is what I get for this being a private school. But public would be worse--I know...I've been there. But it is almost to the point where I want to start over and try agian there. But that is what next year will be for. I'm switching to PSEO (hopefully) and spending half of the year in Rochester with the people I really call my friends...and my lover. I really need a hug...and something to do to these preps. Some of them are okay...but mostly, they all need a good dousing of manners, politeness, how to be a real friend...and what it is like to be put off by them.

Is it just me or are American schools way different from Canadian schools? I mean, all I hear about US highschools and college/universities is that the students are all split up into classes and cliques. Canadian schools (the ones I attended, at least) has a large student body but everyone gets along with everyone else and there are no defined "groups".

Not so much in college, but yeah highschools are divided up by popularity and dress style, pretty much.

Hmm... there were also groups at my high school. It probably depends on the size of the school. I know small schools don't usually suffer from the divides between pupils, or at least not as much as in larger schools.

We don't have the dress style problem here, because most of our schools have a uniform.

I'm 14. I don't tackle Jashaun, Raymond and Sam do. Ray's big for his age and I'm small for mine, so when I'm going easy on him, he actually has a chance. Sam is a year younger, and my size, so I'm allowed to tackle him.

The thing is, most of my friends live on the other side of town, and I don't hang out with them much. I have a lot of friends, but I don't really feel accepted, which is probably why I don't hang out with them much outside of school.

And as for hanging out with a 4th grader in the first place, it's because he's kind of like a little brother to me. And, I guess, I'm like a big brother to him, since his two oldest brother's have kids, and Raymond isn't all that great to him. If he doesn't have someone to play with, he'll ask me if I can play. He's cool.

Not at my school. Not at all. The only major diffrences are the rockheads and the hip-hoppers, and even then, they kind of get along. Everyone is nice to each other. There isn't a "nerd" clique, or a jock clique, and there arn't even any "popular" kids. I think most of it is TV and movie stuff, though there are probably a lot of schools that do have this.
