I don't think dating can be counted as serious until at least 10th-11th grade, in my opinion.

Kids are just too immature.

Of course, there are always exceptions... rare, but they're there.

It is pychologically impossible for children to date in the same way that older teens/adults do. Usually, that type of behavior at a young age signifies either A) they are copying an older sibling or parent or B) in the case of sexual type activity, they have been subjected to sexual abuse. I dunno if I'd call those exceptions, lol.

People suck. I was in a chat room w/some kids from school. They all starting making comments about my brother, and insulting my mother because she just had a baby, and my older brother is a senior.

I cannot take stupid insults anymore. I think that the comments on my mom were un-called for. It's not like she was 15 when she had my brother, and she was engaged when she found out she was pregnant. They were making her sound like a slut.

And then one of the girls IM me:

Calling every 30 seconds when your patient is coding, is NOT going to get you your blood any faster. In fact, it's going to slow me down. It takes me just as long to do an immediate spin crossmatch as it does to complete all the paperwork to give you uncrossmatched, so chill

The computer won't let us. In order to issue uncrossmatched you need to turn off validation in the computer, enter in the reason why you're giving uncrossmatched, and then go through the regular dispensing process. Plus you have to pull a segment and label it so that you can crossmatch as soon as you get a sample and sticker the units and the forms. About the only time that uncrossmatched is faster is when you don't have the patient sample in the case of a trauma coming in or when the patient is coding on the floor and doesn't have a current sample in the bloodbank. We'd already sent up 3 crossmatched units on that guy yesterday when they wanted more that was uncrossmatched. I had his sample in my hand pretty much.

Gah, in order to stay in my dorm over Thanksgiving I'd have to pay $60...like sith I'm gonna do that! Instead I gotta go to my mom's house...where there's absolutely nothing to do and I have no bed...and no one is gonna be there cuz they all are going to Alabama...I can't go since I have to work on Thanksgiving...So I'm gonna spend Thanksgiving in an empty house :(

That's pretty stupid about the dorms, Sticks. At mine college, you can stay over during Thanksgiving. It's only Christmas break and spring break where you have to pay extra to stay 'cause the dorms close.
