I bet Gamestop has the same technology that Family Video does, they have a machine that will repair all the scratches in your DVDs and games

But only if you sell the disk to them.

Wherever the offending scratch is, it's so small I can't find it. It seriously looks better than a lot of new disks.

My dad has this little nifty thing that he uses for scratches on DVDs and stuff. If I can figure out what it's real name is, you could maybe buy your own.

So, we decide to have Chinese tonight. I find the menu of the nice place, but they don't deliver, so everyone spends the next hour searching for the menu for the inferior place that does deliver.

Then we order from inferior Chinese... and my parents ask me if I can collect it. icon_neutral.gif

I'm like, so why did we spend so much time looking for the menu to the rubbish Chinese that delivers? But whatever...

So then I collect it, and when I get home I find out that my parents have decided to be cheapskates and not order the egg fried rice I asked for, so instead I get some horrible microwave-in-a-packet rubbish to go with my Chinese. :(

I HATE the American office environment. Note to all: honesty is good! Please say what you mean and mean what you say. I feel like I live in a Dilbert strip, like this one.. That is all...

I'm still trying to figure out if that old adage, "Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all," bullsith is true. I think I'd rather be ignorant to the whole love thing and have never had it. Just sayin'.

I like the quote in Men in Black about that.

Jay: Well, you know what they say: "'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."

Kay: (hard glance) Try it sometime.

Dude, that's actually what I was thinking about as I posted, lol.

But Du, what about your babies?

I'm talking about a woman! :p

No I didn't! I said I think I would rather be ignorant, as in, NOT know what it's like to have loved and lost. That sith sucks! And I just mean that feeling, I could have still made my babies without it. :p

Okay, so if you're sitting behind your friend's car that stalled and is waiting for a tow (I'm assuming; it's the most likely scenario), put your freaking hazard lights on so I know you're not planning on going when the light turns green. Don't sit there with your brake lights on, with me behind you waiting for you to go on when the light turns. So long that I use my horn (which I'm rather ashamed broke my streak of having never used it once since owning this car), and then finally you just wave your hand out your window for me to go around. THERE IS A REASON FOR YOUR EMERGENCY LIGHTS. To warn people that you're NOT MOVING.

Say.,,Uncle Du, I made a mistake with a girl today,,,

*sees everyone screaming, Du groaning, and JM horrified* :p

No no, not like that. :p I was walking downtown to The Great Race thingy (pics will be posted soon) and this girl asked what the whole Great Race thingy was about. I explained it to her, and she was like, "Oh, that's cool. Thanks!" and there was an brief pause, and I said "You're welcome!" and then she (and here I'm not quite sure) either went to pat me on the shoulder, or shake my hand, or give me a high five. Whatever she was planning to do, she stopped in mid step, leaving me very confused over what she was trying to do and what I should do next. We both had our hands angling towards each other or something. It turned into a lame handshake, and the tone of her voice betrayed that she thought I was a creep, or someone "special" :( I'm never going to see that girl again, so all I want to know is when one explains something to a girl, is it customary for them to touch you afterwards? What's the protocol here?

I don't touch people I don't know. I may offer a handshake if I'm feeling particularly polite (i.e. a job interview), but that's about it.

Dammit, I had a whole response typed out and accidentally swiped my track pad and it took me back in my history.

*sigh*

OK. Biggest thing here is, confidence man. If you thought she was goin' for the handshake, meet her there with it. It might not be exactly what she wanted to do, but if you exude that confidence (and a dashing smile, lol), it won't even matter. If you hadn't actually introduced yourself by name, that would be a good time to do it. If you're really ballsy, you could do the whole, kiss on the hand thing. I've only ever done that once, and I was loaded with liquid courage haha!

Self-confidence goes a long way. You're not always going to know exactly how a woman wants you to act, so you have to take chances. I obviously still don't get them. :p I think the best you can do, is be happy with YOU. The rest starts to come naturally after that.

That's never happened when I've swiped my trackpad. Hmmm...

Thanks Uncle Du! Yeah, I hadn't actually considered introducing myself until you mentioned it. *smacks self* I'll take that into account for a next time. :) It will be a confusing moment that will live in infamy- when both she and I gave conflicting signals that the other couldn't read.

Okay, define irony:

A couple of Republicans buying a "high efficiency" washing machine (how the hell is an hour to run a load efficient by ANYone's standards????).

No define stupid irony:

Using said "high efficiency" (and high capacity) washing machine... to wash TWO towels. Small ones. *headdesk*

That's what I want to know too. How is it high efficiency when it takes an hour to do one load of wash?
