Damn the people who've been using our classroom and conference room. They drink our coffee and leave the room a mess. They'll laugh really loudly while they're in the classroom (which, by the way, is in the middle of the office, so they disturb EVERYONE. When they leave, they make no attempt to be quiet. Remember, they're right in the middle of everything, including the telephone survey lab, where there are people doing LIVE interviews with people. And just a minute ago, they were in the conference room with the door open, blarring out some movie and laughing hysterically.

Actually, the ordeal started WHILE giving blood. About a quarter to halfway through the experience, I get REALLY cold, I feel funny (tingling, faintness, lightness, etc.), I feel a little nauseated, and my stomach starts to hurt. I was told the color drained out of my face, too. I walked by a volunteer, who looked up at me and said "Are you okay?" Like thirty seconds later, she goes "No you're not." So, I'm put on this chair thing that operates like handtrucks. They can tilt you back to the point where you're actually laying on it. So, I had to lay there for a while.

Yeah, I thought it might be. A lot of people have bad reactions on their first time. I guess it's just cos your body isn't used to losing a pint of blood at once. :p

My sis did a similar thing, only she thought she'd be okay... right up until the point where she fainted. But she's been fine every time since.

They really should consider allowing people to give like a half a pint. You would have fewer cases such as mine, and people could give more often.

Do they tell you your blood type? I've never found it what mine is. I suspect it's B+, though.

If it's your first time then they probably don't know yet.

I would hope they would test it for type before they try to put it in someone. And if they test it, I would assume they would let me in on it.

Yeah, they'll test it first, lol. Over here everybody who gives blood has a blood donor card, which has your blood type on it.

depends on if the red blood cells have antibodies on them or not. no antibodies is O type, or there's A, B, or AB. the + or - part has to do with antigens in the plasma. + means you have them, - means you don't. type O blood is a recessive trait, so both parents have to be carriers for the offspring to get it. it's possible for a child to be type O when their parents aren't.
