Correct, the crock pot is easy. However, the proper combination of ingredients to make an extra tasty result requires a little more skill.

Do tell. Do the cupcakes compliment the subtle flavors of the meat? :p

sounds......tasty.

ok, so Rob and i have been looking for a second car. it's getting to the point that we kinda need it, and i hate driving the stick shift he has. we've called on a couple cars around town but they were either too expensive or already sold. Craigslist turned up some good possiblities, but again, none of them panned out. we went to go look at a Chevy Lumina that looked to be a pretty good deal. when we went to see it, it was obvious the previous owner had not taken care of it very well. the body was pretty banged up and the cigarette lighter and ash tray were falling off. no biggie, though. not pretty but runs well i could deal with. the seat didn't go up far enough so i could reach the pedals and the car smelled like gas when we turned it on. not good. so we didn't get it. a Ford Escort looked promising, but it may have been sold to someone else yesterday. we might be going to an auto auction in Indiana on Wednesday, but we'd prefer to be able to buy one of the cars that didn't sell at a previous auction. but i'm not holding out too much hope for that either. the more i hear about the auction, the less i like it. it costs $400 to even get in the door, which either goes toward the price of a car if you buy one or you get it back if you don't. however, the car has to be paid for within 24 hours by cash or certified check. we can't get there to pay for it Thursday, so our only option is to carry a couple thousand dollars with us that day, which really makes me uncomfortable. and because of President's Day () all the banks are closed, which is making it difficult to move money around from savings into checking and out. hopefully we can find something at one of the bazillion used car lots near our house, but i dunno if we can.

and some lady thought i was getting snippy with her at work. she was looking for marriage/family counseling places and i told her to try Google. well, she doesn't know how to do that, so i got up to show her and asked if she was on a computer. she said no, so i turned to the nearest empty computer to get her logged in, but by that point she was upset with my "attitude" and left. apparently i was slamming stuff around, which i guess is referring to me locking my computer. the keys on this keyboard are loud anyway, and sometimes the Enter key doesn't register and you have to hit it a couple times. dang wireless. so in comes the supervisor to ask me what happened. beats me. the lady was looking for a fight, i guess. the supervisor told me not to worry about it, but it still makes me angry. yeah, i know i can be a little short with people that don't know much about computers or are getting on my nerves being loud and all that, but i try not to. i don't try to be real nice to people who i constantly have to tell to follow the rules, but i try to be patient with everyone else. i guess maybe the fact that i hate this job is really starting to show. :(

Did you put icing on the cupcakes before throwing them in?

JM, just be glad you don't work in retail. Those customers suck and they all have it in their heads that if they throw enough of a tantrum they'll get anything they want.

still, it makes me look bad. i may hate my job, but people tell me i do it well. maybe i'll just tell patrons who think i'm snippy that my dog is sick and at the vet for exploritory surgery.

Well, yes, you should do it well. And if your boss is any kind of not-entirely-stupid, sshe should understand that some people really do go around looking for a fight.

Some people are just pre-determined to be dicks. Believe me, I've worked in hotels.

Nothing is EVER good enough for some people.

And apparently. there is a fake state law requiring us to take back everything ever purchased at Macy's. Yeah. Right.

Bad furday

All of us third shift folks at Kohl's are not customer friendly. I discovered this when we had to work around the customers during the holidays.

If we all switched with second shift, they'd have to come up with the K-Hole Award - Given to the employee who receives the most customer complaints. :p

Heehee.

And I just spent an hour in my managers office at work today sorting things out culminated in me getting an angry phone call from a coworker at home at 9am on a Saturday morning on my weekend off.

That's what I felt like doing too. Instead I went and was the bigger person and complained and mentioned the "harassment" word that no manager ever wants to hear. Tends to get things fixed quickly

when you give blood and they take the little plastic thingy with a spring-loaded needle and stab your finger with it so they can get a bit of blood to check iron and hemoglobin. a lot of diabetics use similar devices to check their blood sugar.

and the girl that stuck me really bruised me up. i've gone through two icepacks in 4 hours. i think the needle was on the side of the vein instead of in the middle. owies.

I had dozens of finger sticks when I was in the hospital for my first brain surgery. It sucked massively.

i swear they hurt worse than the needles do.

They do because there's more nerve endings in the fingers than anywhere else where they draw blood.

And JM, it could very well be that your veins are the same size or almost the same size of the needle. There's nothing friendly about the 18 gauge needle that they take donations with
