Hey Brumak, take this from the resident pain slut ok? Don't give up on it completely, sure take a break from it, but don't throw it away and close yourself off. I did that and I almost killed myself. like I attempted. I was in two abusive relationships within a year of each other, one used to just haul off and hit me... the other... well I moved in with Sara and then was completely alienated, and just she totally was like not so much physically abusive but emotionally. She tried to get me fired from my job when she got fired, she was just a complete bith. She cheated on me with four different people within a month and she ended up kicking me to the curb when she decided I was too much of a liability cause I'd tell the other girls.

I was also left pregnant by an ex who told me to abort it. and then laughed when I miscarried and told me it was good I did cause it was unwanted and worthless...

So I cut off from it and stopped dating and stopped looking and just got really cold... but then I met someone just very recently, and he's so perfectly right it makes me cry. So just, take a break, but don't lock your heart away. I promise it does get better.

I gave up on finding a real love when I was still in high school.

The bad part is that I thought I found it again. I found someone that could help me....make me feel more alive and important.

Then I find out it was a scam, per say.

it's good that you know now instead of later on. i think it's safe to say we've all been in at least one lousy relationship (i've had a few..... -_-), but like Kia said, you can't give up on it. some of my best relationships have come when i wasn't looking, but i gave them a chance. so yeah, take a break, but don't let yourself miss out on something wonderful when it comes around.
