Ask her when she's online. some of what you say just reminds me of what i hear every other week from here.

I know this is of little consolation now, but when I was in high school it was the same thing. Then I went to college where I made true friends and realized that the people that I thought were my friends then weren't the sort of people that I wanted to be around. I loved the people that I hung out with at college. Now we're spread all over the state and don't get to see each other enough, but it's ok because they're true friends. And I've met this great guy at work, and for having some pretty crummy teenage years, things are turning out ok

Yeah, in high school I had "friends." We hung and stuff.. but I never felt close enough to them to share things with, and they never felt the need to share things with me. Kinda lukewarm friends.

If they don't care about you, you shouldn't care about them.

I cannot say like Mara and Prin that I didn't make real friends in High School. I made a few great friends, and we still keep in touch, and hopefully always will. However, like them, High School isnt your life. After high school, you probably won't see any of your classmates again, unless you make an effort to. If you do, they'll hardly remember unless you do. May suck to see people say that now, but that's only because humans are short term thinkers, "whats in it for me now..I dont care about the future" type of thinking. Just try to get past that thinking.

Hah. Or you could be like me and never have any real close friends that won't abandon you the first time things get hairy.

See, most of my really close friends are online, lol. Most of my RL friends don't really know me that well cos I have been so distrusting over the years. lol, I really gotta stop that.

I don't even have lukewarm friends lol. But today I kinda realized who my real friends are, kinda better.

See, this guy I like is one of my guy friend's, friends. So I told him, and he asked him out for me. His response was **** no. Then he started yelling "No" down the hallway. Bit embrassing. I have never asked out a guy in my life until this year, and twice this SEMESTER I have been turned down. So I was upset. Three of my friends, well, they wanted to kill the guy who asked my crush out. I find that as loyalty. :p The one wants me to call her so I can vent...it's just so screwed up. Guys just drive me crazy! I still like this one guy, who I asked out before, he was nice about it, but I realized he doesn't talk to me now that he can't get Science answers off me..and there's the guy who asked my crush out....

WHY IS 8TH GRADE SO CONFUSING?? (the academic part isn't, thankfully, I would've gone crazy by now)

Yeah, 8th graders shouldn't be dating anyway... They're already all confused, no need to make it worse. ;p

Kids at my school have been dating since 5th grade.

no they haven't. dating for 10 year olds is sitting together at lunch and maybe, if they feel frisky, holding hands.

Riiiight.

I don't think dating can be counted as serious until at least 10th-11th grade, in my opinion.

Kids are just too immature.

Of course, there are always exceptions... rare, but they're there.

Dating doesn't start till you're really 16+.

You can say you're dating, but it's really not the same emotionally and usually not physically ((Though there are studies that show recently a lot more kids are having sex ((and a huuuuge amount have/gave oral sex)))).
