Well no test results yet but it took so long because the hospital forgot to order her labs so she had to get those drawn when she got there and then wait for the results. The damn radiologist gave her the local and didn't even give it time to work, he just started sticking her. The lesion was hard so she had to get stuck about 6 times, and each time the needle got larger. And as routine complications of the procedure (how complications can be routine I don't know) she has a collapsed lung and is coughing up blood in her sputum. She's on a strict routine of no activity for the next 24 hours. Now we just wait for test results

I know you're very worried about your Grandmother and that those things are tramatic. But at least your grandmother is still here. My best friend resently lost her Grandmother and mother to kidney failure and cancer respectively. While these things are never easy to deal with. Some of the procedures that are done are invasive and difficult. Needle aspirations of the lung do have side effects. I am very sorry that your Grandmother had that happen to her. All I can say is that I wish for the best.

Anybody ever had to write a paper for school that you really had to analyze yourself to do...and write some pretty personal things in it that your mom doesn't know about you...only to have her pick up a copy of the paper and read it?

No problem Prin. The fun thing about needle aspirations is they can only numb the skin. With your grandmother having a radiologist do it... it sounds like it's pretty deep.

Upper lobe of her right lung. And then yesterday she wass back in the hospital with chest pain because her lung reinflated but air got into the pleural cavity so she couldn't catch her breath. Fun times

So I'm in the hospital gift shop. The old woman in front of me pockets a candy bar, while she's looking at me. I know she's stealing. She knows she's stealing. I say to her, "You know, I'll pay for that for you." And she tells me off. Then pulls all the crap out of her pockets, tells the woman at the counter that I'm paying for all her crap and goes off in a huff that her son is in the hospital. I'm perplexed.... :|
