This being the vent place, this is where I will come to vent about people who will never read it and find out how I sometimes feel about them. Sometimes.

Why are my friends so volatile, and sensitive, and melodramatic, and goddamn moody? Disclaimer: I like the lot of them, but it's just their behavious I can't stand. I've never had so much in common in terms of likes and dsilikes with a group of people and so little in terms of personality. All really funny, really fun people. Well, maybe 60% of the time. There are, I think, only two peole out of our entire group of friends who I'd feel comfortable venting to, and I don't want to lose their friendship.

Half of the most recent fight is actually available on my lj friend's page. I feel like being a bit evil, so voila, free link. I thought MSN was a fight causer, but convincing people to get LJ's so I'd be able to stay in contact when we went our seperate ways was apparantly a bigger mistake. I'm learning quite how bithy these girls can be. Can nobody take anything at face value? Sometimes people just want to vent. They're not looking for attention, no more than anyone else who uses LJ, what with it being online for any and all to read!

And hitting each other. Really. Why? And holding a grudge about it for months. Or going on and on and on about Jacobi, who pulled pretty much all of us so it;'s not a big deal any more, and he's not going to do it again because he doesn't want to. And everyone complaining about their parents. I doubt they're that bad. It's not a crime if they want you to do chores around the house. Quit whining. Wait til you live alone. And this sounds really bithy, but I feel slightly justified when I point out that I find it hard to believe you can miss someone who died when you were under six quite that much, considering you remember practically nothing of them. I have one friend who's father died for years ago. I feel sympathy for him. I don't feel quite as much for the person's who's mother died when she was three, and yet she still insists on getting depressed about it regularly. It's not that you miss your mother, girl, it's that you miss having a mother, and you really don't like your stepmother. You don't remember your mother, you told us. And other person, bringin up deceased grandfather every time someone else mentions a dead parents (rather too many of us, really). Look, I'm sure I'd be more sympathetic if, as usual, worse hadn't happened to others.

The stupid thing is it's not just sheltered south east england girls with no perspective. We have perspective, in our wonderful Jess, who suffers from more diseases than most people will see in a life time, has lived in her own (or a boyfriend's) house since she was 15, and has gone through real relationship trauma, like suicides and abusive boyfriends. And yet, I feel like I'm the only one who sees this. For ****'s sake, people. You don't have issues. You don't need prozac. Worse has happened to others, and will happen to you. Hate to think what you'll be like then. Glad I won't be around, I guess.

:sighs, forces self to relax: I like these people, but I can't deal with this. I respond to other people's moods. This has been going on for two years. Why we're all still talking is beyond me. When it gets down to it, I never know how to handle emotional people. I can't relate. I'm not a sympathetic person. I've inherited a 'get over it' gene from my mother. Depression (the type most of my friends display, anyway) serves no purpose except attention seeking. Either solve the problem, or accept it. Don't whine about it, bvecause people will just get pissed off and oh look, more problems. And, as you probably guessed, the thing that irritaes me the most is that most of them refuse to see how small and petty these problems are. I want to be like my mother when I was little: "Think of the starving orphans in Africa." Not getting on with your parents does not mean your life sucks. Not having food, water, shelter and having AIDs, yeah, then your life sucks and that's the reality for a lot of people.

Why are teenagers so melodramatic, aye?

Sorry, but you forced me to speak up.

Depression is a recognised mental illness. I'm actually beginning to think I suffer from it. I get depressed for reasons that are just stupid when I look back at it. But that doesn't mean I can stop it. And I don't seek attention through it, because I have never told anyone in the Real World, only a few people online probably have any idea that I get depressed.

Aye, Beeurd is right. You should encourage your friends to seek help. Just because they haven't had any traumatic happenings in life doesn't mean they can't be depressed. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain, which can be caused by genetics amongst other things.

It also tends to get progressively worse over time without treatment. Can end up with psychoses or suicide.

No one should ever be told they shouldn't seek help for depression.

I know how you feel. I went through a pretty bad depression spell a few years ago then another two years after that, very nasty combination of many things. And even now, just a perceived insult or hardship will cause a snowball effect that will bring it back.

And I've only told one person in the real world. I'm too pig-headed to tell someone I don't know (a therapist) about it so they can either make me out to either be nuts or a whiner. So, like Beeurd, I only feel even semi-comfortable talking about it to people I have never seen, may never see, that life hundreds and thousands of miles away.

I've always been very shy too, so that doesn't exactly make it any easier to talk to people about anything.

I should probably get help... It's getting to the stage where at times I just don't care about anything. Actually, you know now that I have actually said something about it, I feel like I can say more. Like how I've actually been having depressed spells for years, but never told anyone, and it's only in the last few months that it's been really bad. Apart from that time when I was about... 14, I think... Well. Nobody knows about this: When I was about 14 I tried to kill myself. I don't even remember why, so it must be some stupid reason. But after that everything got better. Until the last few years, where I have been stuck at McDonalds, not even managing to get job interviews, doing the same things every day, and having the managers there seem to take me for granted and show little recognition.

I'm not going to lie to you, the past week or so has been hard on me, not only has work been crap, but there's been a few troubles here too, which you may have heard of. And my family increasingly annoys me, and then there is the fact that I have no money and probably won't have for at least another month or so, and I still need to save up some money for C3 next year.

Life sucks, but you just got to try to get on with it. *shrug* My new philosophy on life.

And It's just taken me forever to type this up...
