Princess 35 Posted February 6, 2006 Let's ewok with the budget! The biggest savings in mandatory programs would come from the Medicare health program, slated to take a $36 billion reduction through measures such as slowing the rate of growth for reimbursements to hospitals and other providers. Yeah, let's not pay the hospitals so that the cost of healthcare can soar even higher At the same time the president renewed his call for Congress to make his tax cuts permanent even as his blueprint projected a surge in the federal deficit to $423 billion this year, up more than $100 billion from fiscal 2005. There's another smart idea, cut taxes and increase deficit spending Nine of the 15 Cabinet agencies would see cuts in fiscal 2007, including justice, transportation and education. Among those targeted by the budget knife are community policing, a program to combat violence against women and vocational education. Because those aren't all necessary. Let's cut education so that students have to learn in overcrowded classrooms with obsolete equipment. And let's cut community policing so people can get away with whatever the hell they want. Let's just have a country of uneducated violent poor people!

TheUnknown 39 Posted February 10, 2006 Among other changes, staff also deleted a reference to Mr Coleman voting with President Bush 98% of the time in 2003, despite running as a moderate the year before. /\ Oh, it's gonna be fun seeing that brought up in 2008 when he runs for re-election.
