Hand dipped is the hard stuff beeurd, in flavors like butter pecan, chocolate chip cookie dough, mackinaw island fudge, moose tracks, snickers, etc. Sherbet is a sort of ice cream that's non dairy

Hard ice cream forever. There's a place here called Coldstone Creamery, where they make the ice cream right at the store, and you get to mix whatever you want into it. It's amazing, and it tastes sooooooo damn good.

Didn't know that was a chain store. There are a few near my college.

Anyway, Princess, you forgot the most obvious: the standard stuff you buy in pints or half gallons (I think that what it comes in). My favorite is Laura Lynn (Ingles store brand) strawberry. So creamy and soft.

When I think of hand dipped, I think of when they dip the soft ice cream into the chocolate sauce and it hardens over it in a delicious chololatey shell.
