Mara 29 Posted October 18, 2007 I want to see the Meerkat Manor movie. (Yeah, I know, I'm a softy). They're making a movie out of that? Might be interesting. Haven't seen the show, but the recent commercials are hilarious. "My uncle might be my father..."

Haven't seen the show, but the recent commercials are hilarious. "My uncle might be my father..." It's a very good show. It can be very funny at times. But it's real life and meerkats die. This season in particular has been depressing. Anyways, this is a trailer for the move: Here

Uncle Du 22 Posted October 23, 2007 Ironman! I'm not a big Robert Downey Jr. fan, but after Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I realized that he wasn't so bad.
Mara 29 Posted October 23, 2007 Beowulf looks good. Hell yeah. I've been excited for this one for a while now. Just need to find somoene to see it with me.
Drake 53 Posted October 23, 2007 The only thing that bugs me about Beowulf is that the CG doesn't look real enough to be live-action while looking too real for CG, if you know what I mean. My brain wants to believe that it's not CG but I know that it is. It's realism is sitting in that gray zone. And Ironman looks great!

Mara 29 Posted October 23, 2007 I just hope they're true to the original epic poem of Beowulf. There are a couple scenes I'm looking forward to.. and if they're done right, they should be freakin' awesome.
Drake 53 Posted October 23, 2007 A blockbuster movie staying true to an original story? I wouldn't get your hopes up since their track record isn't the greatest. :p
Mara 29 Posted October 23, 2007 Yeah, I know (*smites creators of the Timeline film*), but it's not a very long story, and there are only a few key scenes, so hopefully it'll be pretty close. I can't wait to see how the big Hall looks... and the battle with Grendel and later Grendel's mother.. and then the big battle with the dragon. Should be sweet. Hopefully. Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted October 24, 2007 i hated Beowulf. but the movie actually does look ok. could this be a rare case where the movie is better than the book. dun DUNNNN!!!
Mara 29 Posted October 24, 2007 Gasp! It's classic literature, Old English style. Would be sweet if they turned the Epic of Gilgamesh into a film.
