Andy 60 Posted November 28, 2007 (edited) It's direct-to-DVD but will most likely be playing on Fox eventually. Straight to DVD? That's worse than a TV movie. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. lol Edited November 28, 2007 by Andy
Drake 53 Posted November 28, 2007 Hardly. I would not have given it an A+ if it did not warrant one. Most direct-to-DVD flicks like those terrible Disney sequels definately warrant bad grades. They fail. Futurama is another matter altogether. Tell me B, did you watch or even like the show? If not, or even if you did, I would suggest saving your comments until AFTER watching it and judging it yourself.
Mara 29 Posted November 28, 2007 Yeah, didn't they do Beowulf with that motion capture or something? That question. I knew that. I was just asking because at first I thought you were patronizing me or something.. but now I realize you were just restating and clarifying.
Drake 53 Posted December 2, 2007 So I went and saw Enchanted with my girlfriend last night. Surprisingly, this was one that I didn't mind going to see. Sure, Disney's track record for their family movies (excluding Pirates and the like) has been terrible at best aside from the occasional Pixar movie which made up for it. I was first taken in by the trailer which showed that perhaps it was possible that Disney actually made a good family movie again, using a mix of animation and live action. After seeing it, I wasn't disappointed. It was what everyone from the classic Disney generation had been missing since '99/2000 when the last of the greats were released: Tarzan, Toy Story 2, and Emperor's New Groove. After that, it was Lilo and Stitch and a series of direct-to-DVD sequels. Finally, Disney made an actual "Disney" movie again! A+
Ana 15 Posted December 3, 2007 Tin Man (SciFi channel miniseries, Part 1) A+ Oh man. This thing kicks so much ass. Perfect casting. Spectacular outfits and sets. This is a really great re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz. The storyline manages to both be quite parallel to the Wizard, and very innovative and new at the same time. And I fangirl like... well, a rabid fangirl, every time Neal McDonough comes on screen. I can't wait for the following parts. :D
Mara 29 Posted December 3, 2007 I wouldn't necessarily put POTC in the "family" movie category.

Andy 60 Posted December 8, 2007 Saw The Golden Compass the other day, it wasn't bad. Seemed to rush at times and then drag abit at others. I can tell the original book would be amazing though so I might have to get that. David was quite annoyed by it though, as it's one of his favourite books. The credits started rolling and he goes "That's not the ewoking ending!" quite loudly. Bless. hehe

Uncle Du 22 Posted December 24, 2007 Bioshock -XBOX 360/Windows PC A friggin + !!! -There's a reason this game won game of the year at the VGA's. The game play is pretty basic, it runs off the Unreal 3 engine. And it's not really the game play that makes this so awesome, it's just a basic FPS. The whole environment contributes to the depth of this game, from the gene upgrades, to the look of the city (I mean, the whole thing is underwater), to the crazy battles you have with the Big Daddies. You have to approach every battle differently and use your genetic enhancements to your benefit. I have yet to beat the game yet, but the storyline is incredible. Just when you think you know what's going on, you get thrown for a loop. Tactics you use in the beginning of the game, will get you owned later on. I was irritated at first when I found out that it had won GotY, but now I know why. Don't knock it till you try it. I can say though, if you don't have the time to get involved in a long ass game, don't start this one. It's looking like a 30 + hour game.
Ender 8 Posted December 24, 2007 Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - A+ Absolutely brilliant, top to bottom. Johnny Depp pulls off the part amazingly well, and Helena Bonham Carter's pretty good, too. Sacha Baron Cohen was the best part of the entire movie.
Andy 60 Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) Saw "I Am Legend" today... Didn't know what to expect really... It was kinda average though. Will Smith was pretty good, but it's not his best film. It seemed to me like it was trying too hard to copy/be better than other similar films. My initial thought was "It's 28 Weeks Later in New York!" lol And the beginning was a bit boring. I mean... how long do they have to drag the "We're just showing you that New York is deserted" scene out for? And he races around in a flashy car that you never see again, lol. I give it... Hmm...
