Ayingel 24 Posted September 29, 2007 old wrinkly indy? kinda ruins it, if you ask me. no cool flying over a fault line with his whip.
Drake 53 Posted September 30, 2007 Hollywood Homicide was Ford's bid at a comeback and look how that turned out. I'm going to go into Indy 4 with lowered expectations.
Andy 60 Posted September 30, 2007 I wish they'd hurry up with Indy 4 so they can get on with cannibalising the Jurassic Park franchise...
CorSec 5 Posted September 30, 2007 I wish they'd hurry up with Indy 4 so they can get on with cannibalising the Jurassic Park franchise... At least the primary characters are CG. So they only look better as time passes! Despite poor plots, I always enjoy the JP sequels.
Andy 60 Posted September 30, 2007 I never liked the first JP sequel until I saw JP3. lol
Mara 29 Posted October 1, 2007 (edited) I got the same feeling. I think the storyline is great. If it actually moved a bit further every movie. I mean, they could draw this thing out indefinitely if they're only going to give us one little tid-bit every movie. Yeah! Besides, real geeks prefer movies in sets of three (unless they're going all the way to 6 )! Speaking of sequels destroying the integrity of a trilogy...Indy 4. Thoughts? O.o *shudders* I never liked the first JP sequel until I saw JP3. lol Really? I liked JPIII better than TLW. But, overall, they were both horrible. The fourth is subtitled "Extincition" I think, so hopefully it'll be the last. Edited October 1, 2007 by Mara
Drake 53 Posted October 1, 2007 With a title like that, it will probably mean the dinos have spread to the mainland and are rampaging through cities and junk.
Andy 60 Posted October 2, 2007 The fourth is subtitled "Extincition" I think, so hopefully it'll be the last. It has no script or plot yet, so it's doubtful that it has a name. :p
Mara 29 Posted October 2, 2007 Well, on IMDB, I think it's where I saw it, it was listed as a working title or something.
Uncle Du 22 Posted October 10, 2007 The Game Plan C -Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson -Rosalyn Sanchez Basically The Rock plays a star football player who finds out he has a daughter right when he's at the height of his career. The movie is pretty much him figuring out what being a father is really like, in a way that only The Rock would do. It was fairly entertaining, but towards the middle of the movie, the comedy gets a little hokey and repetitive. The ending is extremely predictable, but I've come to expect no less when it comes to Disney killing peoples careers. I think this is the movie that will go down in history as killing The Rocks action movie career, just as The Pacifier was the one that did it Vin Diesel. I must be missing something when it comes to Hollywood these days because I don't understand why actors are taking roles like this. Instead of sticking to a genre that they were good in, they try to "break out". Whatever. Back to this movie, it was entirely too long, 1 hour and 50 minutes. If it wasn't for The Rock and his onscreen charisma, I would have walked out. But, my son seemed to enjoying it, so I stayed. For him. If you really want to see this, wait for the DVD or even wait until it airs on TV. Should only be a year.
CorSec 5 Posted October 23, 2007 After catching the last 15 minutes of King Arthur on TV the other day, I am blanketing the movie as a generalized "C-". For a genre that prides itself in the action-filled climax, I was somewhat disappointed. I don't even want to know how the rest of the movie must have been. It was like watching Braveheart with a chick thrown in. Except this isn't 1995. I was planning on renting it someday too.
Uncle Du 22 Posted October 23, 2007 Is that the one with Kiera Knightly?
Drake 53 Posted October 23, 2007 Yes. I didn't think it was so bad.
Uncle Du 22 Posted October 23, 2007 I didn't watch the whole thing. After seeing so many movies about Camelot and the like, I get kinda bored with people trying to put a new twist on an old story. Which is why I've never seen Titanic. :p
Mara 29 Posted October 23, 2007 Haha, DU, me either!
CorSec 5 Posted October 23, 2007 Yes. I didn't think it was so bad. Keeping in mind this is a completely nonobjective 15 minute review. The movie possibly redeemed itself in the first three quarters! :D
Bad furday 57 Posted October 23, 2007 In a strange way, I didn't like King Arthur because they were wearing chainmail armor and tunics. I wanted to see them in full suits of armor . Well....I guess I could do a remake of a remake .... Did they have Morgana LeFay and Mordred in the movie? if they didn't, I think I liked it less ;)

Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted October 24, 2007 i don't think Mordred or Morgan LeFey were in that version. i could be wrong, though. it's been awhile since i watched it. but Merlin was basically a medicine/holy/wise man type person instead of a pwnz0r wizard. the only real redeeming factor of that movie was that Lancelot was hott. Chickenman 9 Posted October 24, 2007 I'm now going to use a new system to rate my reviews. This means nothing to you, but is helpful to me, as I need to be exact about these things. ***** Can't Get Enought Of It **** Love It *** Like It ** It's Okay * Dislike It No Stars is saved exclusively for Disney Movies, Fall Out Boy CDs, and anything else that reaches a level of crappyness that is truly monumental and a testament to man's ability to have zero taste in anything anymore. Thank You. Let's get started. The Game Plan: No Stars What can I say? Disney Movie. (Takes mental note to never let Lucy pick a movie again) The Maltese Falcon: ***** The film that pretty much created Film Noir. Great all-around detective movie that keeps you guessing. Humphrey Bogart does a great job playing Detective Sam Spade, a complete nerfherder of a private eye. The character of Spade alone is worth watching the movie for. One of the great things about noir is the morally ambiguos characters. The detectives are more anti-heroes than heroes. Spade is a perfect example, throwing himself in with the bad guys for a piece of the action, but when there's no real monetary gain to be found, he's suddenly a good guy again. When he hears that his partner, Miles Archer has been killed, the first thing he does is have Archer's name taken off the door. The ambiguousness of the character keeps you guessing througout the movie, indeed, it's hard to tell what the real mystery is: The location of the Falcon, or what Spade is really up to. Witty and always two steps ahead of his enemies, Spade is the kind of sunuvabith you just have to watch. D.O.A.: ***** Another fantastic noir. Frank Bigelow walks into a police station to report a murder: His own. The rest of the movie is a flashback where we learn the entire story of how Frank is poisoned, with no possible cure, and how he tracks down his murderer to find out why and get revenge before he dies. True to noir movies, there is no happy ending. This one is bittersweet, but with substantially more bitter. From the moment he drinks the poison, Frank is dead. There is nothing he can do to reverse his fortune. It's hopeless. With that out of the way, a great mystery unravels. It's not as desperate as a man trying to track down an antidote, but it still takes you on one hell of a ride. Romances in movies usually don't touch me emotionally, but it really sucks how unfair the one in this movie turns out. Paula loves Frank with all her heart, and as Frank learns he's going to die, he realizes how unappreciative he's been and how much he really loves her. Too late though. Gut wrenching, really. Terriffic movie.
