Chickenman 9 Posted February 22, 2005 God, my favorite sport is freaking ruined. Jason Giambi, Ken Caminiti, Jose Canseco, Gary Sheffield, Barry Bonds have all admitted to steroids. A reporter found a trace of androstenedione, a substance many consider to be steroid, in Mark McGwire's locker during the 1998 home run race. Jose Canseco has claimed 85% of MLB players take steroids. Later, he reduced that number to 50%, which is still high, considering the number should be less than 1%. They've banned Pete Rose from baseball for gambling, how about these guys, who have ruined the very essence of the game? Here's the penalty for getting caught with steroids: The penalty for a first-time offender will be a 10-day suspension; second time, 30 days; third time, 60 days; fourth time, one year. All suspensions will be without pay. Testing includes an unannounced test during the season, and possibly more random tests including during the off season. Here's what I think: If I were Selig, I'd make it a rule, that if you were discovered to use steroids, that's it. You're gone. Not for the season. Forever. Out of baseball. Bonds, you can kiss the 500 club goodbye. Roger Maris, here's you home run record back. Sheffield and Giambi, ever considered work in the exciting field of sanitation management? But of course, sing Bud Selig is the timid puppet of the owners, this will never happen. So goodbye baseball. I got to see the Red Sox win, I guess there's nothing left to stick around for. If you need me, I'll be over there, watching the NFL draft.
