George Lucas has confirmed that Boba Fett did survive the Sarlacc pit.
During an interview with Star Wars historian JR Rinzler, creator George Lucas apparently confirmed that the fan favourite bounty hunter no longer officially saw his demise in the Sarlacc pit at the end of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
It has been long established in the Star Wars Expanded Universe that Fett had managed to escape and live a long life outside the movies, but this marks the first time that Lucas has stated that he survived the encounter.
