  2. In celebration of two decades of Star Wars comics, Dark Horse has released a mega bundle containing all of its Star Wars material. The bundle, priced at $300, is a digital collection of 568 comics published since 1991. Dark Horse announced the sale on Facebook by saying: Dark Horse's expanded universe comics were recently downgraded to 'Legends' status (with the exception of Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir), leaving the way for fellow Disney brand Marvel to take the reins of the comic series in the new year. The Han Solo and Lando Calrissian Adventures novels are to be reissued under the new Legends banner, according to an official Star Wars Books post on Facebook.Way back in the early days of the sadly defunct Star Wars Expanded Universe two series of novels centred on the characters of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian. These novels were significant in bringing Star Wars off the screen and into our own imaginations, and the powers that be have recognised this by making them among the first books to be reprinted with the newly created Star Wars Legends branding. These fun filled trilogies were originally published between 1979 and 1983, and while they may not be the brightest shining beacons of the old expanded universe, but they are a must-read for any die-hard fan. The Han Solo Adventures by Brian Daley focus on Han and Chewbacca as they travel the Corporate Sector of the galaxy during the years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, while the Lando Calrissian Adventures by L Neil Smith recount Lando's exploits as captain of the Millennium Falcon several years previously, before he lost the vessel to Han. Star Wars canon has been redefined, and what was the Expanded Universe will now become available under the "Legends" banner.Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that the old Expanded Universe is no longer canon, to give the storytellers of Star Wars Episode VII and onwards more freedom to create exciting new stories for fans. The EU has not been totally swept away, though, as elements of it have been preserved as part of the new canon in Disney's new animated series Rebels. Recognising the popularity of the EU, old publications will still be available under a new "Legends" banner and will still be open to be adapted into the new canon. Del Rey will continue as the publisher for Star Wars adult fiction, and future novels will be part of the new official canon. The first novel announced, by John Jackson Miller, is fittingly titled A New Dawn and will tie-in to Star Wars Rebels, and show how Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla came together. It is scheduled for release as an eBook and hardcover novel on 2nd September 2014. Three more titles have been revealed: Tarkin, by James Luceno. 4th November 2014.Heir to the Jedi, by Kevin Hearne.
