    Disney order Rogue One reshoots

Disney movie executives are so unhappy with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that they have reportedly ordered a four-week long session of reshoots this July in order to improve the upcoming spin-off film following poor screen testing. The rumors were revealed to Page Six, who have previously been quite reliable. Sources claim that Disney bosses were not satisfied with director Gareth Edwards' first cut of Rogue One and are splashing out on the expensive reshoots as they try to resolve the "crisis". Fans were on the whole pleased with the first Rogue One trailer that landed a few months ago, but the film seems to not live up to the hype in it's current state. Whether this report is exaggerated, as movies do often reshoot scenes after filming has ended, or whether Edwards has fallen short of producing a top quality movie remains to be seen. Rogue One is due out on 16 December 2016.
  3. Celebration Anaheim attendees were treated to a special teaser of upcoming spin-off Star Wars: Rogue One this weekend.Speaking at Celebration Kathleen Kennedy and director Gareth Edwards revealed new information about the upcoming spin-off, which has only one cast member confirmed so far - Felicity Jones, who will allegedly play a Rebel soldier. Those attending the panel were also treated to a special teaser trailer which has leaked online, which confirms the setting as being pre-A New Hope, with a plot revolving around Rebel Alliance forces retrieving the plans for the first dreaded Death Star. The teaser trailer is at this stage more of a concept reveal, as the film has not yet started shooting, but is certain to whet the appetites of eager fans. Edwards also stated to fans that "the absence of the Jedi is omnipresent in the film. It hangs over the whole movie", and further elaborated that the difference between the good guys and the bad guys may not be so clear cut. The spin-off movies will be known as 'Anthology' films and will be stand alone features that form part of the official canon but do not rely on the core characters of the main Star Wars saga. Rogue One is currently scheduled for release on 16 December 2016. Click here to view the article

  5. Star Wars: Rogue One will be the title of the first spin-off movie, it has been revealed.Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger revealed the news at a shareholders meeting in San Francisco this Thursday. Also announced was the release date of the next Star Wars big screen outing: 16th December 2017. Rogue One will be the first spin-off movie and will placate fans while they await Star Wars Episode VIII, and will be directed by Godzilla director Gareth Edwards and written by Chris Weitz (Cinderalla, About a Boy). Little is known about the movie at this point, although it has been confirmed that Felicity Jones has been cast. Jones, 31, is perhaps best known for her recent role in 2014 hit The Theory of Everything. It's fair to say that with the name Rogue One, the film is likely to feature Rogue Squadron, the rebel starfighter group first seen efending the rebel base on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back. In the former expanded universe, Luke Skywalker lead Rogue Squadron after the events of A New Hope, and the fan favourite organization spawned it's own line of Star Wars novels, comics, and video games. Rogue One will reportedly start filming in the UK in summer 2015. Click here to view the article
