  1. Deborah Chow has been chosen to direct the upcoming Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series, it has been announced. The announcement came via the official Star Wars Instagram, and later confirmed via an interview with Variety. Chow's TV credits include Better Call Saul, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods novels, and Netflix/Marvel show Jessica Jones, as well as already having a hand in upcoming show The Mandalorian. We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga. Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in The Mandalorian, I'm absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story. Kathleen Kennedy Ewan McGregor will be reprising the role of Obi-Wan, which he made his own in the Star Wars prequels. Not much is known about the show, except that it is set eight years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, which puts it at around 11 years before the original Star Wars movie. The Obi-Wan TV series, which will be a Disney+ exclusive, doesn't have a release date yet, but is expected to begin shooting next year.
